I asked a question and people honestly said this guy would go to heaven that killed my friend. This is the stuff that made me turn my back on christianity. Please explain the logic in the idea that belief in jesus alone means you go to heaven no matter what.

That's one thing messed up about Christianity. Hitler gets into heaven because he truly believed in christ and believed he was doing god's work on earth. Gandhi goes to hell because he didn't accept christ as the messiah. Most people will say that that's just wrong, but dems are da rules.

Why are you looking for logic in religion? You won't find much, except what is common across all cultures (don't kill, steal etc)

There is NO LOGIC in any of it. If it were logical, we would not be debating things that have been proven. Like, evolution, using PV vaccine We also would not have destroyed BILLIONS of lives in the name of a god that they screech is all loving. But hey, we are talking about a god that murdered millions just because they did not do what he said. Then there is the little thing called sin, two of his "creations" pissed him off so he took it out on everything that lived. Where is the logic in that? Sounds like a question that needs to be posted!

Gods prerequisite for getting into heaven is to believe what he said, and no matter what sin you commit "IF AND ONLY IF""IF" that's the key not everybody who says they have repented really have only God will know and that's why he is the judge! Now HOW it happens is this, the person after committing the crime in his spirit God comes to him and convicts him of his evil, and then is given by our forgiving Father in heaven a chance to repent and "IF' he does God will forgive him. Now he still hased to pay the penalty and do his time.(the things that has to do with salvation that are going on right now on this planet Grace and mercy to the sinner is what our father has. The good news is that your friend that was killed is now at perfect rest and Glory with this same God in heaven. She really is the winner because this world is almost done and revelations tell us that BLESSED IS he who dies in the Lord because of what is about to happened on the earth with the Antichrist! So just our father God forgives you and me we must forgive others and let father judge them ,our command is love!!!!!IN JESUS NAME!

Why does everyone assume good people all go to heaven? Doesn't the bible mention paradise Earth filled with the meek and righteous and wickedness done away with?
God didn't create this Earth for nothing but to be dwell on by mankind.

Everyone makes mistakes. In the eyes of God, sin is all the same. People were the ones that put it into categories of the "okay sin" to the "bad sin". If you ask for forgivness and try your darnest not to do it again (cause you really do see that you were wrong and stupid for making that mistake), God forgives you, bottom line. But He doesn't just listen to empty words. He's looking at your heart.

I'm assuming you are talking about the person "ash" that said number three would go to heaven? I think that person is disturbed, and was quite possibly just messing with you. I'm very sorry for what happened to you, and I'm sorry you have encountered so many idiots on yahoo answers.

if you committed a sin , and in God eyes ,1 sin is just as bad as another, and your not saved, and at some point you get saved, you will be forgiven,in Gods eyes for those sins because Jesus when he went to the cross bled and died, his blood was a sacrifice for all of us, instead of how they did it before Jesus died, they would sacrifice and animal to cover the sin, anyway God is a forgiving God,it's man that has a problem with sin and forgiveness

Yeah, there is a same concept in Islam that Muhammad (May peace be upon him) will request God for the heaven for all his followers... but thats how the scholars explains this, "Every Prophet will advocate for its followers, but we should not leave it all for them, that we sart making sins, that in the end we have to go to heaven, thats not fair,"
But what you said is true...every Prophet will advocate his followers.

look i'm muslim and our religion judges by actions not blind faith.. the prophet once said that smiling in the face of another muslim is "sadaka" which is as if paying money to the poor
but where's ur point if an athiest doesnt believe in heaven, nor does he want to go there, why do u want him to go there.. it's your faith not his. the point is, i dont know if sinners go to hell but everyone gets what he deserves, maybe ur athiest friend deep down believed in God and he'll go to heaven
God is just in all religions

Only possible if the guilty party REPENTS with all their heart and truly accepts Jesus for forgiveness...

But not possible if the guilty party intended to ask and pretend to repent from the beginning...

Jesus feels the difference coming from each soul...
