Most guys get that way when you first start dating. He's proboly worried he will offend you. Just tell him he has nothing to worry about, and then plant a sucker on him. Try to force the fear out of him by being as close to him as possible.

Is he a new boyfrend? if so give him a bit of time to come around, assure him that he is important to you. He might be a bit fearful or scared of intimacy... talk to him and let him know that your their for him see what he says
