I would be glad to hear any recommendations.

I am looking for something reasonably small, cheap and with good quality video and sound.

Also I'm going to be taking it mountaineering, so if it was a wee bit hard to break that would be an added bonus.

My Husband got me a lovely little sony handycam dvd92e light, easy to use and sound quality pic and vid's!

I have a Sony handy cam digital camcorder thay will run you about $350 at walmart the same camcorder only stander not digital is about $250. I line is about 3-4 mounths old.

I think the sony DVD cams are quite good because they record straight onto DVD so you just stick it in the DVD player to watch it, they are a reasonable price now and really good quality, easy to use and a good camera

Go for those with DVD. Because it is easy and large storage available! Meanwhile you can save cost if compare to tape or DV!

a DVD one, cos it goes straight in the computer afterwards

but not a sony
