Jesus was born a Jew. He had to be to fulfill the prophesies about him. He had to be born in the line of David. He had to suffer and die. He had to be rejected by the world. He had to bring salvation to the Jew and the Gentile. I think there are several hundred prophesies concerning Jesus hundreds of years before he came. He fulfilled all of them. And by the way, Jesus was not a muslim and the God of the Bible is the real God. The God of Isaac and Abraham, is God and not the god of Ishmael and his decendants.

of course. however, he started a very unjewish religion which some jews, sadly, bought into.
Thank G-d, the vast majority of jews never bought into it and oftentimes gave up their lives rather than succumb to idolatry.

As for his religious identity, Jesus (pbuh) was always a Jew.

More spiritually profound meaning... he was a Muslim. A Muslim is one who, with the totality of his/her mind/body/spirit, competely submits to the will of God. Jesus submitted completely to the will of God with everything in him, so therefore, he was a Muslim.
