I would find a way to divert the topic of conversation. Ask her how things are at work, school, or family. What is she doing fun and interesting?

You may want to talk about what you are doing interesting and exciting. Anything that keeps her from talking about her boyfriend or the same old topics of conversation.

Say "I get bored talking about your boyfriends all the time."

I don't know about anybody else, but it peeves me off (aka hurts) if someone considered a friend won't tell me how they feel if something is bothering them. Just say it like it is already! If we get through it, super, maybe we'll be better friends... if we don't, we weren't very good friends to start with!

Friendships should be give and take. If one friend is doing most of the taking, there is an imbalance. Your friend probably doesn't realize she is being self-centered.

I suggest you guide the conversation to more neutral topics. If that doesn't work, have a gentle heart to heart talk with her and tell her that listening to others is just as important as being heard.

that happened to me with a few of my friends and it's difficult because you understand that they need advice but it does get pretty irritating for a while and you don't want to hurt her feelings and be mean to her and want her to stop talking you all together so I suggest just trying to change the subject and to keep in control of the conversation for a while...I'm pretty sure eventually she'll get the hint even without you telling her.
