Everytime I ask a question about science, they give a stupid answer from that book. Everytime somebody ask about a problem in a relationship, they give a stupid answer from that book. A question about the Universe, a question about education, a question about health, a question about world event, a question about politics, a question about social science==the answer is in that book. Do they think I go to this website to find out about that stupid book?

I agree. It's annoying. They should keep those references to themselves. I don't want to hear some lies.

I am both a scientist and Christian.
When I have a science problem I use classical scientific method.
When I have a faith problem I use the Bible, guided by the Holy Spirit.
When the two types of problem are congruent then I use both and expect that science and the Bible will contribute to my understanding.
I believe that, ultimately, there will be total agreement between science and the Bible.
The Bible is the Christian's only source of authority and so if you ask them a question then they will answer from it. Not using the Bible is like a scientist not using the findings of research or a lawyer not referring to law books.
1Peter 3:15,16 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ...

That stupid book is a best seller and the 1st ever printed!Even many great scientists acknowledge its power to resolve scientific issues. An example:for centuries scientists have worked very hard to know how to make life better on Earth(how to avoid illnesses,stresses...)and some found that what they discovered were already stipulated in the Bible,2500/3000 years ago.Furthermore, scientists invented many devices...to know if we are the only beings in the universe since the 15th/16th centuries. And recently other galaxies similar to our's have been discovered thus suspecting life there also. Here again the Bible is far ahead as it mentions this matter very very long ago.So you would gain much by start reading this book straight away and discover many other tremendous realities which will surely change your opinion and make you think the opposite way/refer to the Bible to get solutions to science questions.

I am Christian, and yes, all my answers come from the Bible and you know what, it's been great. The Bible is the word of God, but the book won't get you anything. It's having a real relationship to God that changes everything. The book just helps me remember all he has done for me and reminds me of all he is currently doing and all he will do in the future. It's not a stupid book, have you read it? Doubt it, how do you know if something is good or not until you read it? You don't and you can't. So, your opinion on it is void.

First of all, most Christians do not even know the history of "that book!" The Bible was created in 787 at the Council of Nicea where the books that ultimately selected to make the canon we know today. Many books were more accurate but did not follow the direct the church was going! (More money, male domination, property, divinity of kings!)
So the next time some halfwit randomly quotes a line from "that book," just realize that there is a lot that they do not know about the Bible but even more that they do not know about everything else!

Have you read the book? Most everything in life is put into some form for the bible to answer.
Most people, including non-christians live some part of their life according to the book as you so call it. From here on out I'm going to call it what it is, it's the BIBLE and it has a place in every religion and life on the planet.
Most teaching items are from there and most of the answers you have in life will come from some part of it.
READ THE BIBLE! It's really not that bad once you get into it.

if you go to this particular website (religion and spirituality) and ask questions WITHOUT expecting answers from the Bible, then you answer me, then wouldn't that indicate that forrest gump's mom is right-'stupid is as stupid does?' there are sites about relationships, science, health, world events, politics, and social sciences, education, and yet, here you are, in 'religion and spirituality'...as to whether Christians feel all the answers are to be found in this book...i've yet to find a better one...and the Christian life is not something you can compartmentalize...Christ's life and teachings have an effect on your ENTIRE life...from your political viewpoint to how you take care of your body to how you spend your money to how you interact with other people...

Ur question says "do Christians think...". Well true Christians think that the book, the Bible, is the word of God. They belive that the book is written 4 mankind and that it is all inspired by God (2Tim3:16,17). There4 they expect to find many answers in that book and the truth is that the book realy contains a lot of valuable information. Now, the book doesn't contain information like the formula of the water molecule or something like that but it gives advices concerning relationships that haven't lost their value in time. When I'm talking about value here I am not reffering to the value that ppl in general think it has.

That is a common problem. It happens with the very zealous who have gotten so locked into the rules of the religion that they have forgotten the Spirit. The same happened with the Scribes, Pharisees, and Saducees in the days of Jesus. They HATED Jesus. Now it seems that those who CLAIM to love Jesus do exactly as His enemies rather than as Jesus did. They can't look beyond the book and feel the Spirit. If they could, they would grow beyond the confines of the book and experience the awe and power that exists within and without the universe. Science would not be an enemy, just a tool in trying to understand how this awesome power of God works. I love God, I love Jesus, I love Science, I love History (that's a scary one for them too), I love Literature. I also love all those who worship a higher power who also belive in Love, Peace, and Harmony. Let me not leave out Hope.
God Bless You as you search for the truth. I hope you join us one day.

Well, perhaps you're exaggerating just a teensy weensy bit. I looked at all your questions and frankly, as a Christian, I would only use scripture for a couple of those questions. Or I might just paraphrase the reference so it is more understandable.
You're probably frustrated with the number of questions that Christians feel are answered by the Bible. Personally, I don't think the Bible is the answer to everything. I only believe that it is a book that helps us understand who God is and how he feels about us. It documents His interactions with one nation in particular, showing what he feels is important and is not important. It also documents how we as humans broke relationship with God and how he went about correcting that situation. I don't think the Bible is the source of all answers, but I do think it helps us get to know God - who is the source of all answers.
Please forgive the tendency us Christians sometime have to forget that distinction.

Yes!! I am a Christian and I know that the Bible provides answers to ALL matters about life in this world. It only works for those who apply the examples given in there to the real events and consequences of human behavior in the world today. If you come up with a better source of information, let us know how it works for you. If you don't like this website, stop using it.
