Help her

No. Take her aside, and try to talk to her about it first. Don't just drop the ball like that. Because all that will do is ruin your friendship, get her kid taken away, and drive her to do more drugs. If you were a good friend, you would take to her about it, ask her if she realizes that she has a problem, and then if she admits to it, help her out. If you feel the baby is in danger, then maybe it is out of your hands, and you should talk to her family. The worst thing you could do in this situation is report her to social services. All those people will do is tear apart her family, and ruin her life. Please talk to her, and not the Feds.

There are a lot more people you could tell other than the feds. I dont think any of these people on here have gone through it before, but I have, and I know what it will do to a person. O Know three people who lost their kids for minor things that could have been stopped by friends.

If she is into the hardcore stuff, she's not likely to be able to keep her work about backing down off of it even if she were to tell you that she would. For the sake of her baby, first avenue of choice is to involve her family. If that is not an option, a call to the welfare department/child protective services is in order.

You aren't doing the baby any favors at all by not saying anything. More than one baby has ended up drugged, beaten, raped (yes, raped - boys & girls) or molested in some way by other wasted "friends" who happened to be around the baby at some time or another. It's not that the mothers allowed it - they were either too messed up to know it or they were in another room at the time.

I used to work with Youth Services. Happened more times than I care to remember.

I know you are probably afraid that your friend will be angry with you, but isn't a damaged life more important than a damaged friendship?

Oh my, this is incredibly sad. She is not only putting herself in danger but also her child. What if her child could get a hold of a syringe or other. This is not a nurturing and healthy environment to say the least. She needs help and I think that until she is able to handle parenting responsibly before something really tragic happens then the best thing would be to contact Child Protective Services until she has had thorough drug rehabilitation and counseling. This is the best thing that you could do for her even though it may not seem that way at first. Good luck to you.

If you are really her friend then you want what is best for her and her child. You definately need to report her not so she can be punished but so she can just get help because the baby will remember this and it wont help her out when she is older. Trust me. If you really care then you know that the sooner she gets help the better for her and the child.

Man, that is really awful. I sure feel sorry for the baby and wonder what kind of life he would have. If the mother won't seek help for her addiction, she may not be fit to be a mother. Gosh, I don't know what to tell you because I don't know all the facts in the situation. I would consider the baby's welfare if I were you and go from there.

Yes,most definately. That child's life is being put in danger, you know deep down that what your friend is doing is wrong, you would be doing your friend a favor by turning her in. It might make her wise up,get off drugs and raise her child the way she should be raising her and if she didn't,then you would definately be doing that child a favor because the child would be in a safer environment.

Yes for the sake of the child AND your friends life! She needs help and someone that is sober at all times needs to be taking care of the baby before she accidentally does something to harm it. Please do it now, even if you lose a friend, you'll save 2 lives.

Hell yea!!

She will be made and not want to talk to you but she will also be put in a place where she can clean up and the baby will be taken care of 'til she is ready to be a sober mom

After she is sober and her relationship with the baby is mended, she will be ever grateful.

yes, if her parents won't do anything you must, for the sake of the child.know you may lose her friendship , but what awful torment would you feel if the baby got her stash and overdosed, or the guilt she'll feel if it comes to harm while she's high. the greater good is saving the child, your feelings or friendship are secondary...........when in doubt take the high road.
