If it is really bugging you call your vet and talk to them. Its free. Also dips really don't work very well. Original blue dawn is the best instant flea killer just use as shampoo when bathing. Vacuuming is a must! Everything must be vacuumed daily for 2 weeks to rid of eggs and hatching larva. Empty bag every time(stapler comes in handy). There are 2 ways that I know works to keep fleas off of animals. One way is to spend the 30 dollars for a 3 month supply of advantage. Second is to feed your animal brewers yeast and garlic pills from the pet store or vitamin store every day. I grind the pill(1 for each cat) and mix in wet food each morning. When eaten the smell exudes threw their pores and the fleas hate it.Remember fleas get in your house on you, when you walk around outside they jump onto your clothes. Also this heat has made them bad this year.

Call your vet NOW!!! Have the shampoo and/or dip bottle handy. He or she will need to know what was used.

If you can't speak to a vet or a tech immediately, bathe your cat with a PLAIN shampoo that does NOT have a flea control ingredient. Baby shampoo is good. Rinse the shampoo off real well. If you still smell the dip, wash him again.

Even after you do this, call your vet!

we'd need to know how he's "not like himself". i know that our dogs get a bit wary of us after we give them a bath. is he just staying away from you? or is he actually acting significantly differently? if he's just staying away, it's probably because he didn't like it and doesn't want it to happen again.

he should be ok. if you're worried, see a vet
