It is not painful at all.
My recommendation for the girl is to be comfortable and relaxed.
Sex involves many muscles, and the tension and cramping does not make it feel comfortable. Feeling loved and cared for helps a great deal. This is why the male partner has a very important role in providing this feeling of love, affection and care to his partner.

It does hurt because she has never been opened. She should expect some discomfort as well as some blood. But once she gets used to it she will have some fun.

Don't be afraid. Seriously, it will hurt more the more tense or afraid you are. The more aroused you are, the less it will hurt. In fact, if you aroused enough (and he enters slowly enough) it will not hurt at all.
The most important thing is to relax and don't be afraid.
