Media - we're told from child birth that we have to look like models

Because even when they are fully dressed when puberty first came upon them and they began to get their "lovely lady bumps" some man or boy, began to undress them with their eyes and "probe" into private areas without invitation. This is then immediately followed by some unwanted coarse remark about a private body part.

Self-consciousness sets in and it goes downhill from there. Ever notice how men think they have a right to comment on a woman's body right to her face; behind her back or to others.

This is a degradation that boys; men do not have to face 1/10th as much.

In addition, women are more accepting of the non-Adonis male. And in later life the balding head, the bulging belly and the limper . . .

We're just more kind.

Don't confuse having a little class and sophistication and being a lady with "ashamed".
I'd much rather a woman keep her clothes on and act like a self respecting and intelligent lady than stroll around with body parts hanging all over the place and showing skin from her groin to her earlobes. Let's get some class back! Sheesh!

Of all the women I have known and still know I only met one who was shy to get naked. As far as I know men have more problems with their nudity in general.

Instilled in us since we were young. At a certain age our parents put a shirt on us but not our little brothers. I'm the wrong person to answer this question. A family member started abusing me right about that time. I still can't get over it.

I'm not...I love my body! I wouldn't walk around naked in public or anything but that's a question of modesty and proper behavior but I'm perfectly comfortable being naked in front of my boyfriend or just randomly in my house.

because its like revealing a treasure. Women are supposed to keep their body covered until marriage. Its the right way. Even after marriage the more the shy the female the better respect she gets, and no punk messes with her.

not ashamed... just insecure and self conscious...

ahh a woman is never fully 100% satisfied with herself.. whether it be the media and celebrities or the jerk bf telling them theyre too fat/ugly whatever.

society doesnt exactly help...

if a girl is ashamed, reassure her she looks great! i mean there is a point when you can feel good in your own skin.. i mean i love my nakeynesss!! lol
