Let be realistic, professional boxing is way harder than amateur. Also you're not gonna to make six digits on your first fight. You probably will make only 2,000 or 3,000 on your first fight. If you lose, your payment will stay low. Even if you win, your pay will not goes up much. On top of that, you will fight only twice or three time a year.

So find a real career so you have something to fall back on if you didn't make it as a fighter.

the only real way an amateur career would open doors as a pro is to have an olympic gold medal.
