i am a ordained bible student notice i dont use the word reverend. i feel that women should not preach so i dont usually use that word even tho i am ordained. i have been studying world religions also. so i dont classify my self into a religion. but i keep catching my self discussing and trying to teach people the word as i my self learn it. i dont do it on purpose but whats amazing is i have had these people actually listen to me and ask me questions these are people that normally do not even care about god much less knowing the bible. i dont know if I'm wrong for doing this because the bible says a woman should remain silent. i would like to know every ones opinion on this. my neighbor says i just glow when i talk about god and that she has never seen any one do that before. and she is surprised at me because i dont watch what i say i speak my mind and i have tattoos. and i have more friends in jail then i have in church.

this is why i think the way i do:
1 Corinthians, chapter 14
34: the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says.
35: If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

No you should teach what you know and there is nothing wrong with women preaching the bible. I am a Faith Formation teacher (CCD) I teach what I know and love it.

You are not in Corinth.
You are not doing anything in a restricted place.
You have an agreeable listener, not any thing is wrong. Some time helping another to spread the word with time, clothing, the work you do for them, it is still your work.
Have you read about Tabitha who was called Dorcus? Acts 9:36-41; also Lydia? Acts 16:14,15; also Phoebe? Rom.16:1-3;
Lois, Eunice, Chloe, Julia, Martha, Mary #1, #2, #3, Priscilla, the mother and sister of Paul, the mother of Rufus, the sister of Nereus are females mentioned in the bible, they do not 1Tim.2:11-13; usurp authority over a man, but do what is right, it may be in a congregation by aproval of the authority and gender is not the factor, but the Word to be known is.
The Word is to be made known to prisoners.

That was written to the church of Corinth because the women where getting out of hand and the men where not taking their rightful place as the head. Even in the Bible, Paul had women helping to preach. God can use anybody. Have you ever heard of Joyce Meyers, Juanita Bynum or Paula White. And there are many other mighty women of God that He is using to spread the gospel, to help heal and deliver His children. A lot of times it takes a women to speak to the needs of a woman, to speak to the hurt and pain she has endures. Be obedient, go and preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth!! May the Lord bless and keep you, may His face shine upon you and be gracious and give you peace!

I don't think it's wrong to spread the Gospel. You might be a good Sunday School teacher in a woman's class. Nothing wrong with a woman teaching in that situation. Nothing wrong with a woman giving her testimony to someone, either in church or out. I just don't think a woman should teach men or preach. Good Luck.

the passage in the bible is talking about a certain time in the church history. In (corrinth) for that time women were told to keep silent in the church. Perhaps God has given you a ministry for the people who have tatoos and prison ministry. God has different people with different talents, I say go for it!!!!

the bible says that women should only remain silent at church. they can say whatever they want at home. The fact is, God has called all of us to spread his good news. So do it!

I think God uses all people for His work. All people in the Body of Christ, especially. I don't believe in a woman leading a whole congregation but I think speaking to people and all of that is awesome. Of course, if you ask God and He says Do it, then do it!

No you aren't. You only become wrong when you cross the line and try to sway people to come and be your religion. Or by trying to change what they believe.

i don't think you're necessarily 'wrong' to teach what you know.
the Lord can use all of us: man, women, young, old, black, white, crippled, healthy--he can use us all to spread his love and his word.
keep doing what you feel is right. i'm behind you 100%---and proud of you as well!
