for almost 5 months now my husband and i have been going to this church, heres the deal. I'm a hard core bible student but I'm not into religion, i dont even agree with the teachings of this church in the 5 months we have been going i have only seen them use the bible one time. and they have a habit of judging some one because of their race or beliefs every time we go i say im not going back but then i feel this strong need to go. ive never felt this way about any church before. i would say out of the 15 members that only 3 of them are true god fearing people and they are the nicest most loveing people i have met the rest of them i feel as if they are acting they try to out preach each other and out pray each other (with out useing the bible) i asked the preacher tonight a few bible questions and he just couldnt answer them. i just want to know why i cant just walk away from this place and never go back.

I'm not sure why you are drawn there, but I don't think it could be God doing it. If they don't use the Bible, and preach His word, then it's not The Holy Spirit calling you there. Maybe it's the Devil, maybe not, but I wouldn't want to go there to worship. Good luck.

It is your good nature trying to get you to save these people!

It sucks when people play church & use it as a soapbox against people who have done no wrong! Speak up, make your concerns be heard, last but not least, READ FOR YOURSELF!

The Bible has been mutilated enough without listening to some halfwit "preacher" attempting to discern a current meaning to what happened to him last week while at the movies!

I loved the Bible & church until I really saw how the business of religions work. If you are not soured or are using the Bible like a history book, then stay strong, if not, do your own thing and get away from the bigots!

Maybe God is using you to reach out to the three members so you can help them reach out to the other members. God has his ways of reaching people. He could be using you to reach out to the rest of the Church. If the Preacher can not answer your questions, maybe you and your husband should find the answer, and let him know the answer. I hope you find where you want to be. You should try other Churches. I am Nondenominational. I went to Church this morning, Brother Jimmy makes us laugh and cry in Church. If you ask him a question, he doesn't have an answer to he will find it for you. He is a good God fearing man. You need to help this congregation see the way. God Bless You in Your Journey.

You should pray for strength. A church that does not use the bible? Just because the name has church in it does not make it a church. 15 members? Sounds like a made up religion. Good luck in your decision and God bless :)

It loks to me like God needs you there to get this people back on the track again.
The Word of God said that in the last days they will not hear to the sound doctrine of Jesus, but will what soothing things.
You cannot preach ot teach about God and Jesus if you do not use the Bible.
However I suggest that you fast and pray about it. God will give you the answer that you needs.
You do not have to into religion you need to be connected to the Most High God through Jesus Christ.

You are attracted to the church for social reasons not spiritual reasons. You need a bible based church but indeed one is hard to find. Put the word in yourself and seek a church which teaches the word. Be careful of those churches who honor human men more than God and Jesus (such as mormon). They can have a very family welcoming atmosphere but they will take you straight to hell.

I can't answer this question. I'd have been gone from there the instant I figured something was a foot. Either the church is cursed and you are bewitched or you just don't have the mental fortitute to leave a bad situation when you recognize it.. Guess which answer is probably right.

Then you'd have to separate yourself from the group you know and try to find another church that better fits your needs, that you can get to easily, and that you feel comfortable in. Then you have to make your way into a whole new group of people that are probably very close-knit.

The status quo is hard to beat.

probablay because you are needed there. The bibile says that the church is one body, unified in Christ, who we kow thru the word. So, get the word in there, lady!
The best way you can start is just praying for your church and its leaders.
God said that where your treasure is, that is where your heart is also. That can be taken as saying "wherever you sow something, that shows where your heart is" but it can also be taken as "if you want your heart o be somewhere but it's not there yet, then start to sow towards it." in other words, if you want your church to be more bible-oriented, send your prayers ahead of you, and your heart will follow.

you can't walk away probably because you see something wrong and you have the compelling need to right the wrong. stand and speak up. the system is clearly not working for you. after you've said your piece, you may go find a church that you feel comfortable with, a church that will let your faith grow and progress. good luck :)
