Well, Christianity is essentially a criminal business enterprise... in fact, it is the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is 'salvation'... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead. What a racket! FORTUNATELY, it only works on those who are gullible enough, and sufficiently lacking in critical thinking skills, to fall for it. UNfortunately, THAT accounts for about 62% of the population of the USA. (There are a lot more people who DON'T know how to think properly than there are people who DO know how to think properly.) That is why there are a lot more religious people in the USA than there are 'Free-thinkers'... including Atheists. Also, Christians are generally too dense to realize that proselytizing (spreading the 'good news') is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they attempt to just pester people to death, through persistent obliviousness and obnoxiousness. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistence is futile." I would not be surprised to learn the thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept.
Interestingly, statistics on supernatural beliefs count the USA on a par with backward, developing Third World nations, rather than among modern, advanced industrial powers.

Unfortunately yes.
Jesus came to remove the laws from the walls and place them back on our hearts. In the 2000 some odd years since He left, the laws have been placed back on the walls again. Catholicism, Methodists, Baptist, etc. follow doctrines as to their interpretation of the word of God. These doctrines are passed down and down until people follow them because "that's just the way it is". Or, "this is what I was taught in church".
I love the Lord with all my heart and I seek His Grace daily. I study His word to show myself approved and I depend on his counsel. None of that has anything to do with a religion or the act of being religious. I just have a deep love for the Lord.
Those who would argue would do so not based upon the answer, but their interpretation of religion.

Religion is not a business. But the people who are preaching it are doing business.
All religions have properties worth billions of US$. The actual benefit goes to the ones who preach it/own the churches, mosques, temples.

For those who practice religion without trying to sell it for money no it's not. for those selling it for money it is.
I understand churches need money thats a given but to say " you want to have your prayer answered then give the church money" thats just selling faith and faith can't be sold. Giving/tithing should be at a persons own behalf yeah from time to time we need to be reminded we should tithe But to basicly say if you don't your prayers will go unheard is a load of crap.
Hey duck how bout somin original you like that copy/paste thing huh. lol

It use to be, but not anymore. However there are some religious buisneses today. You can find all kinds of small stores in any decent size city.
However religion itself is not a buisness.

Yes, it has been turned in to a business, especially in Hindu temples, in India.
This may be the case in other religions also.

In many cases and places it is THE GODS BUSINESS.
In many cases and places it has been hijacked and becomes a $$$$$$$$$$$ Dollar$$$$ business for the pastor/speaker/televangelist.
As long as we are here on Earth there will be CROOKS everywhere.

I'd say most things in life are business like.
It's all about what one "person" can provide
another and whether that other "person" will
"buy" into that "product, item, commodity ,etc" based on the marketing skills of the "1st person"

Sadly, it is probably the most lucrative business ventures out there.
Salvation is the most personal relationship you can ever have. It does not cost $$ to be in touch with God.
