YOur hair doesn't stop growing, it will just break off. This makes it look like it's stopped growing. Just get regular trims. Condition it well and limit the use of heated styling aids.

it will grow slowly because of the damage to the hair cuticle.
All women get split ends. It even has a fancy name: trichoptlosis. Split ends can be the bane of every woman’s life! They happen to your hair when the cuticle which protects your hair has been removed from the very end of your hair. Split ends develop in dry, brittle hair. The cause of damage most often is due to overly aggressive drying or over brushing with the wrong type of hair brush.
The hair cuticle cannot be replaced once it is damaged or removed. It cannot be replaired. Most often the hair splits and forms two or three strands. These strands can be several inches in length. The only way to deal with hair that is split, is to cut off the damaged section.
The main way to deal with split ends is not to go to a salon every other week for a hair cut. Long ago women would burn off split ends with the thought that burned ends would prevent further splitting. DON’T DO IT! IT DOES NOT WORK AND YOU MAY GET PRETTY BURNED UP IN THE PROCESS.
The best way to deal with split ends is to cut your hair yourself. Just trim a little at a time and don’t go overboard. One rule of thumb, don’t trim more than ¼ of an inch at a time!
To remove split ends:
* Start with tiny pieces of hair. Gently twist them carefully in a downward motion.
If you have split ends, they will begin to stick out.
* Use sharp scissors and cut no more than ¼ inch at a time. Cut into and not right across. Remove thickness including the damaged cuticles to provide a natural effect. This will result in a layered look.
* It is important to cut the same amount evenly in each twist.
Remember to go slow…and do this with a friend for her support, judgment, and to have another set of eyes. Have fun!
hope this helps improve the quality of your hair :)

Your hair does not stop growing, but it appears to stop because the ends will keep breaking off at the split-ends because they are weakened. Trim off 1/4 of an inch about every 4-6 weeks in order to get rid of them.

Spilt ends means your hair is damage. There is lack of nutrition you need to take care of that. Check with hair specialist or dermatologist. If you don't take care near future you will have less hair.

It won't stop growing but it will continue to get damaged. You should get it trimmed regularly.
