I'm not sure but I think that religion is a kind of sick joke. After all the violence it has caused and all the people that it has turned against each other, why won't people just give it up and realize it's not funny?

Religion is no joke and I assure you that it is real. The reason people fight and start wars is because they think they are right and that everyone should believe like they do. I am a Baptist. I believe that Jesus will someday come back to earth. Not every one does, but I am not going to turn my back on that person, even if they do not believe in religion. I do think you need a new lesson. You can find it in a King James Version Bible. God Bless

Your question demonstrates a lack of insight and investigation into the subject matter. "Religion" per se is not the cause of violence and people turning against one another. Sin, pride, and the forces of evil in the spiritual realm are the sources of the things you describe as well as a lack of love for one's neighbor as commanded by Jesus.

Matthew 22:36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

ok there karl marx.......
Yes, it's true religion has had negative effects on poeple. And even Jesus rebuked "religious" people, the hyporcritcal knowledgable types who flaunt their beliefs like a badge. Indeed, religion has negative effects on people, but God has great effects on humanity!
We went and visited the tsunami area in southern Thailand. It was full of poeple who had lost everyhting and were looking for answers. And many found their answer in God, who provides healing, shelter, and peace.
In Pakistan, the poverty mindset has trapped much of the society into the idea that, as long as they can make it thru day by day, they'll be fine. And then God comes along and brings them out of that poverty.
These are just a couple examples in a very large world where God is moving on his people and, in fact, removing much of the religious holds that ensare the poepl of this planet.

the human race is stupid, in that you always take the side of the wrong one ,peoples been defending Hussein, like he was a angel, and just look at how the world has changed in the past 30 years, its backwards,we hate what we should love and love what we should hate,we are so messed up and this blaming God for everything wrong in the world ,is proof,

If you take the time to do some research, you will almost certainly conclude that religion is probably the most evil man-made invention in history.

I doubt it's funny and I don't think that just because of such violence, all religions should be condemned.

Religion isn't funny...

Just like everything else humans are weak and pervert it... they forget christianity is all about love... GOD IS LOVE!

They simply forget that love is the message of christ.

I don't believe you should condemn them all for that.
