I know what you mean and I agree, I totally want there to be mandatory pet training and care courses before people can get an animal. It sucks but people are ignorant and dont realize how to really teach a dog, and it gets blamed on certain breeds because these stupid people for some reason all want to get large strong willed dogs and then teach them to be aggressive by thier own stupidity in not understanding the way a social hierarchy works in the canine world. I never blame the dog..... I rarely have met one that was truly mean spirited it is always the owner that makes the dog.

I agree with you totally! I have this big problem with my husband. See, my male cocker is terrible about biting strange kids. I think maybe my kids got a little too rough on him when they were smaller. Now, my husand wants to hate my dog because he has bit kids before. However, my dog does give the 'kid' a warning before he bites - he will growl and do everything he can to get away! However, I feel that if a dog bites a kid after ever attmept to get away - the kid should be blamed - he should be taught better! The dog is only doing what he knows to do for survival. I think so many people should have to take a class in order to have a pet or be around a pet. I mean, there are a such thing as parenting classes - so why not go to classes to learn about and how to take care of dogs? boy did you get me on my soapbox..lol!

I agree with you on most of your points. I slightly disagree with your point about blaming the breed. You shouldn't blame the breed, you should have known the dog would have those problems before you got it. Different breeds have different discipline problems. For example, Bull Dogs have a tendency to want to dominate their owner (or any one else). If the owner who got the bull dog would have read up on them before getting a bull dog pup, he would have known of the bull dog's dominance problems and would have been prepared. If he wasn't prepared for the bull dogs dominance problem than he could have decided on another breed.
You seriously can't truthfully deny that some breeds of dogs are hard to train and some are easy. Such as a Golden Retriever and a Lab are very easy. I myself own a Boxer/ Rottweiler and I've realized that both the Rottweiler and Boxer make him a little hard headed but the Rottweiler makes him smart, so he is more trainable.
I very much agree with you on the laughing when they show their teeth thing. Animals know how we show happiness and the pup will realize that when he shows his teeth it brings you "happiness" and he will want to do it because of that.

if that is the case, and you think that everyone should take a class to be allowed to own a dog, then everyone should have to take a class before they can have children. If more people would take care of their children and raise them right, and teach them respect, then that child will grow up knowing how to treat a dog, along with other human beings. No, it is not the dogs fault, but it is that of the human owners and not all owners are bad owners, just like not all parents are bad parents.

I agree with you. My Black Lab, Maggie, is so well behaved I sometimes have to wonder how I did it. On the other hand I have this neighbor who treats his dog, Mabel like it's his wife or something. He left her in the basement for a week, and when he got back he found out that she went bathroom down there and beat her for it. My other neighbors tell me that they've seen him kicking and hitting her. And all she does is love him. He won't let her go to visit anyone because they give her treats. I've never seen him do this but if I do......he is one sorry guy.

Wre should not be blaming the dog...as the owner of the dog,we have to teach the dog wat is right and wrong to make it understand..we have the right to discipline the dog...but no to abuse it..you should have really thought about keeping the dog and the consequences before buying it rather than buying it juz becoz it looks cute....always make sure that you are ready to keep a pet and then consider about buying it=)

Aren't people stupid? It isn't the dogs fault. It never is. They are born in a perfect state and we come along and expect them to suddenly live in our society by our rules and expect them to know those rules without ever telling them. And not only that we become angry with and punish them when we can't properly speak their language and they don't understand ours. The dog never does wrong in my opinion. We simply train them wrong and then blame them for our mistakes.
