I tried to read a text book in college once for four hours before I took an exam and then only got a "C". Hence, I would recommend moderation for anything, even the Good Book. After all, patience is a virtue....

No. The Scriptures were meant to be read AND UNDERSTOOD. I don't think you can understand the Scriptures if you red it straight for 4 hours.

As a young man I read the whole bible and today I still find in chapters and verses that keeps my mind in interest. I have read a couple of verses a day from one of the sites that I belong to so that I may and read the bible with more understanding and education and reasoning than I did as a child.
