I think an internet relationship can work, provided that both people are honest. It's no different really than meeting someone over the phone, through a personal ad, at a club, or anywhere else. All are potentially dangerous. As with every new possible relationship, you just have to be careful going in and keep your guard up until you really know the person. Also, since you've never met him before and know absolutely nothing about him (everything he's told you could be lies), take someone along with you or see him only in public places until you get to know him and find out if he really is a decent guy or not. He may possibly turn out to be the love of your life, but you never really know about anyone at first, whatever form of dating you choose, so it pays to be cautious.

Any relationship can start anywhere people meet, the net is nothing other than a new meeting place. Then again, the start never guarantees a finish right at the end. My guess is that if you want to diminish chances of things going bad fast you should have eye contact. Webcams can simulate that for some part, real dates are a next step. Then take it all one step at a time. The advantage of a net-start is that you already know something about one another and webcams generally don't lie so if you don't like what you see you can stop things right then and there.

If you yourself felt it would not work, why did you watse 2 months of your time talking to him?

Nothing in life is a guarantee. GO meet him, test the waters, get your feet wet. HOw else you gonna live? Or do you plan on spending all your free time chatting to a guy on a cam????

One good thing about that is it does provide for very safe sex that way and you can remaon a virgin your entire life. NOt to mention you will probably lose your eyesight before others who are out tere actually dating.

Get off your chair, shut off the computer, and go out.

Sure, relationships can work that start on the net ... but like some of the others have been saying, you absolutely must bring a friend with you, for safety reasons. Best of luck Friday.

i would definitely caution you to meet him in a) a public place b) with friends around and c) MAKE sure lots of people know where you are. you really don't know him yet - it's hard to get a read on people when they're typing to you, no matter how long it's been. if he's a good guy he'll understand why you want to take those precautions, and you guys might be able to work something out. but in general, i'd say to stick with people you meet in real life - it's much easier to know if they're really into you, and really up front about who they are.

My daughter met a really good guy on the internet 4 years ago... but do be careful... there's still lots of people up to no good out there.
Hope you take a friend or family member with you... please be safe>>> not sorry.

Just be safe.
Make sure its public place and you have your own transport.
Take a friend etc.
Just be cautious, alot of people are not sincere here, so please do not have any expectations, just take every step as it comes, though you have been chatting for months Friday is really your first date.
Then.......
Goodluck, I wish you all the sucess!
