Weimaraners are very smart dogs that need to be trained or else you will have major problems with them. Please enroll in doggie classes, it will be money well spent.

first, it's weimaraner, with an a not an e. Second this a breed that can be very hard to handle for individuals who are first time dog owners or are not very firm. They need an extreme amount of exercise, not just a walk around the block, they love to run, so if you have a bike or rollerblades and can run her that way several times a day for at least 30 minutes each time, it would be great for her.

A exercised tired weim is a very good weim. They are much more likely to listen and be easier to live with once they've gotten all the exercise they need and want. If you're having trouble training her on your own, seek the help of obedience classes which may provide the structure you need. Another great activity for both you and your dog is agility, although weims aren't known for winning agility, they generally love running the course, and it's another outlet to release some energy...as is swimming if you have a lake or pond nearby.

Good luck and welcome to a wonderful breed (once you learn how to hanle and live with them, weims are incredibly wonderful family members).

Weimeraners are kind of jugheadded dogs. You really need to be firm and persistant. ALSO, make sure she is getting enough exercize. Weimeraners need ALOT to keep focused and on track. Good Luck!!!

I like brandy's answer above. Weimeraners have very strong personalities and they need constant training and a lot of attention. They want to be your best buddy, because you are theirs.
