Yes. I 've had no choice. They weren't handed down.

No. Because all the beliefs I have are my own. Who else can have my beliefs except me? I mean, my beliefs are of course mine, right? But then again, a lot of people can believe the same things I do. But I really think what you meant to ask is "Do you ever stop to think if the beliefs you have originated from yourself or someone else?" For this answer, I would say that much of what I know comes from other people, and likewise my beliefs. But whether the beliefs comes from me or others is irrelevant, what is relevant is whether those beliefs are TRUE or FALSE.

That, my friend, is an excellent question. I was raised in a Baptist church and have wondered if I would have come to believe the way I do without that influence. Unfortunately, no one's beliefs are truly their own. That would only be possible if we were raised in solitude our entire lives. Everyone is influenced by someone else.
That being said, I have questioned my beliefs and through experience they have been confirmed. Some of the things I was taught as a child were untrue or distorted. Only through study ad again, experience, have I come to the beliefs that I now have.

All the time...but you won't know unless you get them out there. If it rings true for someone; then you have done a good thing...and it is given a voice. A lot of people have never seen their belief expressed before...until they see it. Sometimes they are grateful you said something they would like to have expressed...or maybe it gives them another way of looking at things. Some like to know how another might feel about any given topic.
There are more common denominators than I ever dreamed possible. If you feel the way you do...then someone might feel the same way. I am often grateful for people bringing up things I didn't know how I felt...until I saw it and responded...so I am always learning through my experience...and the experience of another. What we often think divides us; might be something that unites us in the end. We are all part of the human dilemma. It keeps things interesting...and often helps us to put it into perspective for ourselves.

No. the beliefs I have have been around for centuries and I have adopted them as well. Just as the disciples adopted the ways of Jesus as they walked and taked with Him. If I am working form my own beliefs, I am walking in pride and that would be a sin against God. It's all about Him, not me. He is the Creator and I am His creation. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

I've thought about that a lot. Many of any person's beliefs are influence by what their parents and other role models taught them. But, the beliefs they've gained through personal experience are their own.

Your beliefs are your own, to an extent, but they can also be influenced by your peers, your family, your lifestyle, any number of factors. So I'd say that in a lot of cases they were only partially innate.

Ya know, for a long time, i would go to church and do all that good stuff. then i realized that probably 80% of what i believed, i believed because that's what my pastor said. it wasn't until I started reading the bible myslef that the faith started to take root in me, and the beliefs became my own.

Sometimes, but often I find my beliefs to conflict with others no matter who they are or what they believe. Always some difference, so I guess my beliefs are uniquely mine.

Yes, my beliefs are my own. I have done much researching and scouring through books, the Internet, and such, and have come to my only conclusion: atheism.
