You know how people study mythology? People actually used to believe in a man who makes lighting who is buddies with a guy who controls the sea, now we laugh and say, "what a bunch of freaks". Do you think, a few thousand years from now, people will look back at us and say the same thing about people following a carpenter who was born from a virgin?

a few thousand years from now? People already do!

Its a bedtime story. We know it already.

The individual who said:
you forgot that Judaism/Christianity has been around for 4000 years and is still relevant to society!!
..has clearly forgotten that other religions have been around much much longer. Especially eastern religions... And we wiped out the indians before we could find out about theirs.

Christians often talk about the Jewish mythology as if it was the worldwide or "accepted" belief system prior to some mysterious point in history when many cultures broke off and formed other belief systems. Those same people talk about the Greek and Roman Mythology as if it was a "newer" theology than the Hebrew one.

The truth is that the Greek mythology and the Hebrew mythology formed at about the same time in History. The Roman mythology, very similar to the Greek was the common belief system during Jesus' time. The Roman mythology had been around nearly a thousand years in Jesus' time. The Greek Mythology had been around for nearly 2000 years by Jesus' time.
The Sumerian Mythology had been around for over 3000 years by Jesus' time. Many parts of the book of Genesis is VERY similar to the Sumerian legends. It isn't surprising, considering Abraham came from that area.

Oh yeah, definately. I've actually wondered if, a few thousand years from now, if there won't be a Harry Potter religion. After all, the Harry Potter books regularly outsell the Bible.

You know, I can see your point of view very easily as my former great-aunt wrote a book about Greek mythology. However, since she has died I expect she has learned a lot about the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I think in about 18 years or so, you will also have learned something new about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So I will wait and see what happens to your point of view then.

first and foremost, define these two things.... MYTHOLOGY and RELIGION.... two different definitions, two different perceptions... YET i do believe that in Mythology, there is a King or Lord among the GOD's, right? same goes for religion... different religions, different beliefs, yet all pointing to one fact that a supreme being (the Almighty One) to be the lord amongst lords....

a thousand years from now, its how one preserves his faith, on how people would preserve his faith, his beliefs and let the future generations remember the faith that construed their beings.... not by beliefs but by examples.... not by doubts but by FAITH....

God won't let the world last that long. Besides, there will always be believers of Truth. It is the false religions that fall away....
