A magnet has its own gravitational field thus you will observe repulsion and attraction between magnets and ferro-magnetic materials in outer space.
I think you are confusing your question with the Compass. As the compas shows direction by suspending a magnet and letting its north-seeking and south-seeking pole move freely get attracted to the north and south poles of the earth, but in outer space the gravitational field of earth will not be present. Thus the north-seeking and south-seeking poles (which are just called north and south poles) will not move if suspended freely. So in outerspace, a magent will work, but not a compass.

You may recall the shuttle mission that went to repair the Hubble Tellescope. On that mission the astonauts were mounted on the end of a robotic arm and they were held in place using metal shoes and a magnet.

Yes, magnetic forces are unrelated to gravitational forces. If you are in outer space, you should be careful with the magnets, because they might do some damage to whatever electronics are keeping you alive in your spaceship.

Absolutely yes. Electromagnetism is uneffected by gravitational fields. If it didn't there would be no electrical power on any satellite or spacecraft.
