This is a medical term for obsessive compulsive disorder? If you have been diagnosed with this disorder, you could read up on it at wedmd.com.

OCD means a person has the strong tendency to want things a very specific way. They may have patterns of behavior that include doing something over and over the same way for a set about of times.

The problem with OCD is the social impact and the ability to spontaneous do things without having to repeat a pattern over and over or making sure things are just the right way.

IF you have this diagnosis, talk to the physician who gave you the "label" and ask how the professional expect to treat it.

Obsessive-Compulsive disorder is characterized by (obviously) two parts. An obsession (something that preoccupies the mind) and a compulsion (something the person does to relieve the obsession).

Unlike most people think, it doesnt necessarily pertain to orderliness or neatness. Someone can have an OCD about literally anything at all.

It stands for obsessive-compulsive disorder, which is a real mental problem where ppl have to have things exactly a certain way all the time. But lots of ppl just throw around the term for anyone who's a perfectionist or a little obsessed.

the obsession (like germs) usually lead to compulsive acts (such as handwashing all the time)
