In response to the person who anwered, "smoke some weed", well yes that will work for a couple of hours. Then you have to rinse and repeat for the rest of your life, if you want to be free from anxiety/paranoia.
On the other hand, if you don't want the legal hassle, health risks and financial problems that smoking weed eventually incurs, pick up your local phonebook, open the yellow pages and find a psychiatrist close by, and from him/her you can get a recommendation from a counselor. Being on medication for a little bit while getting counseling may get your through this, and is the wisest choice for the long run. If you can't afford it, write another question in here about that and maybe someone will answer it. If not email me.

1st of all u know that something is wrong with ur life. Thats a good start.
Sit down, take a pen ands a paper. Write down what u want to acheive in life. Then set goals to acheive it. Then compare it with the current situation. Understand how far away r u from the goals set and what needs to be done to acheive them.
This will make ur mind think in the required direction and u will work for the goal at the same time u will not be thinking about, 'spinning out of control' attitude.
If required take help of near n dear one's and if required take advice f a doc also. Nothing wrong in it.

When your life is "spinning out of control" you get so stressed out that you get "anxiety chemicals" being triggered by your stressed out body and brain. Once those "anxiety chemicals" start flowing you start operating and thinking from a place of anxiety, and you get kind of moved away from the "real you" and temporarily turned into an "anxiety-thinking you". If a lot of bad things have happened to you you start to think more are on the way, and you start to wonder where they'll be coming from.
Some of the "anxiety chemicals" make you feel uncertain and unsure, so as a result you start feeling like something bad is going to happen. When you're not all anxious you feel like your feet are on the ground and you're "solid".
If bad things are going on in your life and you can't do anything about them you have to try to do something about the smaller things that you can do something about. That will make you feel like things are slightly more in control. You also have to make the effort to do small things that will calm you down regardless of whether or not what's causing the anxiety remains as it is. Listen to calming music, get some scents that make you feel calm and good going (candles, air fresheners, whatever). Eat some fats (chocolate, tuna salad, mild coffee with a lot of cream in it.) (No, you don't want to become a food-substance-abuser, but if, for now, such foods help calm you the "anxiety chemicals" will start to get reduced.)
Make sure you find something to laugh at a few times a day. Find a sitcom that makes you laugh. Talk to people who make you laugh. Laughing also helps get some good "chemicals" going.
Decide that no matter what is stressing you out you will set aside an hour here or there where you are not going to think about it. Find something else to think about even if its something stupid like trying to remember the names of all the kids in your first-grade class or all the neighbors' names in a childhood neighborhood. Read a book if you are able to concentrate. Do anything that will make you think about something other than the stressful stuff.
If you can do things to get yourself a little calmer then the "anxiety chemicals" will start to "back down", and as that happens you'll be better equipped to deal with the stuff in your life from a point where you're feeling a little more like the "real you". Once you feel a little more able to cope with or even fix some more of what's wrong in your life yet more reducing of "stress chemicals" will start to go, and eventually you will feel less out of control.
Regaining control and stopping the "anxiety thinking" is a cycle that you can help start, just as the spinning out of control thing is a cycle that got started.

You should listen to some self-help tapes. My mom used to have severe problems with anxiety where she would get panic attacks and feel like she couldn't breathe sometimes, but she listened to a bunch of those and said that they helped her a lot. Sometimes dreams are about what you fear (like the death one.) Are you Christian? If you put your trust in God and pray to Him and keep on knowing that God will never put anything in your life that is too tough to get through, then that might help too.

You can seek advice from your local physician. Tell him your symptoms and see what he offers you. He may refer you to a psychiatrist or neurologist, which will provide more detailed care. I take medication, and if you are willing to try out what the doctors offer, it is so worth it when you find a medication(s) that provide the relief you need. Good luck with that!

First of all you need to find out what is making you paranoid. Are you taking any medications or on any kind of drugs? Stop thinking about stuff so much and let your brain rest... sometimes that helps a lot.

This truly sounds like anxiety. It can be very scary at times, and definately controls your life to some extent. Please see a reputable physician or Homeopath. They will be able to help you. You are not alone in this.
