lindsslc78 wrote "I think atheists are miserable people, and misery really does love company. I would be miserable if I didn't believe in God. What would be the purpose of living? What a sad way to live life." True or not, she thinks this, and so do many Christians. They choose to believe because they think it's more fun. I do not think religious beliefs are intrinsically respectable, and neither are the believers.

Christianity does not "feel good" very often. We have an inner unquechable joy, but life isn't a bowl of cherries for all of us. For some, it is. Truth is not relative. Truth stands out in a crowd. Truth makes everyone turn their head.

It's sad that you, Unbelievers,"feel" that way but unfortunately for you as ex-Christians you chose to do that in the past and never took the time to know God who is the truth. I respect the fact that you chosen a path of destruction and I have chosen a more excellent path that brings eternal life.

You have to be careful when you say "religious beliefs" as atheism is considered by many to be a religion. They have a belief in themself astheir own god, and as such they have laws and rules that they can follow. They also tend to defend their beliefs religiously when attacked.
also, who the heck is lindsslc78? Tell me she's a credible person, who is worthy to be a rolemodel for Christians all around the world, and then i'll tell you that quoting her is fair. otherwise, take her opinion for what it is, an individual person's brain poop.

Why are so many people against Christians? I don't follow any religion, but I believe in God. Many faiths besides Christians believe in God.

Some Christians do feel sorry for others who do not believe. I apoligize if they have mocked your beliefs. I respect your right to your own beliefs. Please do not be like those who are not respecting your beliefs and start to mock mine. We believe because deep down it is what we think is right. It's not something that we do just to feel good.

Well, you know, ignorance is bliss. It hurts people's heads to think about all the scientific explanations to our origin and to actually have to think for yourself about the mysteries of life. It is much easier for people to have it all laid
out for them and think they were hand made and picked by a God who made them specifically in his very image. What a great and disgustingly egotistical thing to think!!!!
Religion just gives stupid people an excuse to feel superior and makes them feel special because in their self-righteousness, only THEY have all the answers and it is WE who are lost and blind. Jesus is the opiate of the American people.
But you know, I wonder sometimes that if these people (being that they really are stupid and crazy) didn't have some moral code set out for them and the fear of being punished by God, not being "saved" from hell, they would go out on wild crime sprees, they would go crazy. I guess it's better for these people to have Jesus and an institutionalized religion to listen to because if they didn't, they would be following weird cult like figures all the time who told them to kill everybody and themselves. These people are seriously dumb and off their rockers, you don't want them set free of their moral confines of Christianity.--
I truly believe people like them are more prone to violence than your average atheist/agnostic.

As usual, satan, you are wrong. Religion is not about 'feeling' good. We believe in God, the Creator and we are thankful to His only begotten Son, Jesus, for going to the cross for us. We have faith-whether times are good, bad, happy, sad, up, down, favorable, unfavorable.

Faith is a substitute for evidence. Belief is a substitute for knowledge. Neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance and delusion.

That's the sole reason many of them believe at all -- they cannot find meaning in life otherwise.

For you your beliefs, and for them their beliefs. Everyone has his own paths to follow according to his own gifts.

To each his reach.
