yes, people with an imagination, and an education are less likely to believe in God, since they don't need something bigger than them to get through the day with.

Well, there have been many famous artists and creative people throughout history that have believed in God (Leonardo, Michelangelo etc.), so I guess you're talking more from a modern perspective. I would say that society as a whole is much more secular now than it used to be in the past, so it's hard to say that those kinds of people in particular are less likely to believe in God. There's probably not any connection between the two (believing in God and being "creative and open-minded") apart from perhaps the fact that most artists and "creative" people today tend to lean closer to liberal than conservative and therefore reject a lot of traditional values and beliefs.
And of course, this all depends on exactly what you mean by "creative, open-minded people". Are scientists creative and open-minded? What about teachers? I've heard a good joke about an "open mind" only being good if there is something of substance to put into it, otherwise the brain will just fall out.
A lot of people who pretend to be "open-minded" are really nothing of the sort; they stay away from any of the major religions and stick to spirtualism, new age beliefs etc..

As a poet I can say that I believe in a Higher Power. I believe something put me here and all of the world. My 8yr old son attends a baptist church, this is because I want him to have a strong sense of Faith.
Alot of artist and Open minded People are not saying God isn't there, They just identify with their higher power differently than you choose to.
Look at it this way If you believe god is the 1 and almighty then no matter what religion you fallow and what name you call it it's going to be herd by the same Deity, so why stress? Live and let live.

If someone is raised in a generally art filled society you have to look at what their role models have been. I am in noway calling all of the art community non-believing atheist. Some of them believe in god more then the life they living right now. Passion is a very strong influence in art and if you draw your passions from something that some would consider sinful it is easier to then claim you do not believe. Like drugs sex ect......

I'm a graphic designer and do not believe in god as such.. I think this is because creative people are usually quiet open minded and don't like to settle on just one possibility when there are so many out there..

we can probable ought to anticipate some rationalization of the 'unexplained' at some destiny time. those who see demons at the back of all supernatural activities both have not appeared into the concern, or are merely being dogmatic. listed the following are 2 examples of the unexplained. Dozens of Londoners stated seeing a London double decker bus that drove by the streets of London without motive force, conductor or passengers. The bus many times merely vanished into skinny air. a guy one time develop into using in Wales at the same time as he referred to an previous WW2 airplane flying low and silent over the Welsh geographical area. He develop into an airplane fanatic and insisted there develop into merely one such airplane of that form left on the time, and that develop into in India. persons had stated 'ghost' airplane in the area. So who knows what the reason is for inexplicable activities that persons insist are actual? thousands and thousands of individuals say they have been abducted onto Alien Spaceships and held there for some hours. After being raped and examined they're enable bypass. actual? or merely loopy?

I think your experience is just a coincidence. I think people's idea and relationship with God depends on how they were raised. My mother was very religious but I grew up in a house with a very violent step farther who beat and molested me until I was old enough to escape. My mother was in church every time the door open and made me go too. I heard the preach say God loves everybody, but I didn't think he loved me. He said God sees everything but I didn't think he saw me, or didn't care. He said God makes you strong and will fight off your enemies, but my mother was weak and been going to church for years. For a long time that made me not believe in God, because with my experience, I didn't think god believed in me.

Yes, some people are not only less likely to believe in God but will never accept Him. God knows before we are born who will accept Him and who won't.

yes for a number of reasons heres a few
1. exposier to religion (your far less likely to be exposed to the message of God if your the child of drug dealers as apposed to being the child of a minister.)
2.country depending on your country you in some countries have a policy of you can't worship God policy but it's ok to worship your king.
But in the end if it's soroundings and society freer societies have more exposier and are more likely to believe....
