both are warm to touch, red and swelling but the only difference is the presence of the eye ( which is in fact puss) in a certain period of time, the center grows very hard and becomes yellow in color... spider bite on the other hand grows in size... good luck

spider bites usually have two tiny holes in the center of them, if you don't see those puncture wounds then you have a boil
