You probably have swimmers ear from getting water into it that caused an infection. You will probably have to see a doctor to get antibiotics.
I always try seet oil first to sooth an earache but if it's been 3 weeks you need help before your eardrum blows. It will feel better then but it's not a pretty sight.

Do not stick anything in your ear. No drops or anything because if you have swimmers ear, it will make it worse. I started having ear aches in my late 30's because I kept swimming and didnt have the sense to not dunk my head in the water.
The doctor prescribed something like Volsol drops for the crap growing in my ear. You get it at a pharmacy. It kills the fungus or whatever is causing the infection in your ear by making contact with it. It stung when I put it in the ear, but me ear ache started to go away after about 3 days. I just needed to keep putting the prescribed drops in my ear.
My ear ache got so bad, I could not close my mouth and was crying my head off. Stuff started coming out of my ear like crazy and those drops fixed it. My ear popped really loud for about a month before it finally went away.

Try flushing your ear with a 50 50 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide, you might have to have help doing it as you have to tilt your head to the side and hold it there so the mix stays in it. The water could be trapped in your ear with ear wax and you have to break up the ear wax to get it out. Course by now you've more than likely also gotten a infection in your ear and probably will need antibiotics so your best choice is to go to the Dr.

Heat some baby oil, take some cotton from a small cotton ball,
take an eye dropper and when the oil is not real hot, put your head on a slant and slowly place the oil down your ear canal, dab some of the cotton in your ear so the oil does not run out of your head. And with your finger pressed upon the cotton ever so lightly so it stays securely in your ear.

See your Doctor hearing loss is a very serious symptom. And the next time, after you go to the lake and get water stuck in them use Peroxide it will help the water drain out. 1. pour just a little in 2. turn over and let it drain. but I think you have let it go for to long now SEE the DOCTOR!!

Plug your nose and swallow a lot, plug your nose and blow your ears out a few times. Keep doing this. If you are starting to get pain in your left ear after a few days I wouldn't think its from water getting in your right ear.

I'm no doctor.

My daughter just had this from swimming and at first I just thought that she just had water in her ear, but she had swimmers ear. The best thing to do is go to the doctor and he will prescribe antibiotics for it, because I tried all of the things at Walgreens and it just did not work for my daughter. But after the antibiotics it did recover!!!

Sounds like swimmer's ear, common problem in children. Will probably need to be treated with oral antibiotics. Consult your doctor.

Yeah, you should definately go to a doctor. For general earaches you can try to a few drops of garlic oil (you can get it in any health food store) it works wonders.
