Interesting question.
The only "universal pressure that I can think of that may be common to all of humanity would be the knowledge that someday we will die. How we interpret that knowledge is dependant on where and how we were raised. This still does not dictate that there has to be a God.
Some would argue that the awe inspiring complexity of nature dictates that there has to be an intellegent God. Is this a universal pressure?
Is "God" how we cope with the questions of "Why am I here?" and "What is reality?" while we busy ourselves with the tasks of survival? God being the coatrack we hang these questions on while we dig for grubs. A father figure to deal with the unanswerable.
Yet, nothing "dictates" that there "has" to be a God.

well it looks like u have a picture of the devil on your profile. What universal pressure makes u believe that there is a devil. I believe our nature as humans and every aspect of nature in the world/universe are so absolutely perfect that there must have been some sort of creation. I can't image nothingness when I die either. But I am very against organized religions. They are products of man. A few believers turn into a few more, and then more, until different religions evolved around the world to the numbers they are at now. Almost every recorded war in the history of the world are most often caused by religious differences.

Well, ther seems to be an interplaitary standard of concience. for example, ever culture knows it's wrong to kill for the worong reasons, and know that it's wrong to steal something. Where did this linse of standard come from? If there was no god, humans would have nothing to be accountable to, so they could literally do whatever they wanted with no concequences. So why don't they? because of this "universal pressure"

The force of reason demands that. From nothing nothing comes. Whatever has a beginning must have a cause. The universe had a beginning. Therefore the universe has a cause. That cause is God.

It's not a pressure, it's history, the writings of man. There are things in life that science cannot explain.
And why is God such a bad idea? It gives people faith, something to believe in, to help them live their lives. I've found that people with no faith structure--in ANY religion, not just Christianity--tend to be lost people.

Reason. Because we need to feel like this means something. And Art, to be able to see the poetry in action, giving the something to mean, a little lubricant during the times of friction.

If there is a Universal pressure that exists according to you, that pressure itself is God.
God "IS". It's just for us to deepen our perceptions, expand our awareness to percieve Him.

There is no pressure, you have free will to believe or not. But if you can show how something comes from nothing and then matter organizes itself you've got your own god.
