If atheists overcome Christians, it'll only be because Christianity falls to the side, not because reason takes over. Christianity will either adapt, or be replaced by some other religion that better fits the modern life. I'd put paganism at a higher liklihood of replacing Christinaity than atheism.

Nah, I don't think it will happen because many Christians now believe in Evolution just as much as atheists. That is much more likely to happen on a large scale than people just giving up on religion altogether. Now, I do wonder if Muslims will take us all over someday, but I'm not terribly worried about it.

i'm christian. i believe in god. but i do see the points made by atheists. i do not intend to make believers out of people. i do not ask people from other relegions to convert. i do not intend to question my own faith.
now, here's a question for you to ponder. whether or not god exists; whether or not the bible, the quran, the gita, or the other holy books are true, it is clear that faith helps people. perhaps it may only be because they get something to believe in. perhaps not.
but does that matter? if people feel better because they believe in certain things and principles, why not let them be? if people come to you and start preaching, sure, you can shoo them away, but what's your purpose in building up the atheist movement? atheism is being a religion of it's own. isn't that ironic?

i think that we may be few years away from overcoming christians (read centuries) particularly in light of the resurgence of religion in the western world.
do proselytize atheism? yes but there are very few sales.

since when did the term "atheist" become "anti-christian?" I thought they just didn't believe in any diety....
