You have to anchor the teeth you are trying to realign against something
that won't move. There is no such thing in the mouth.

Instead, you anchor against lots of things that don't move easily, which is
ALMOST as good.

However, these days braces do NOT have to be the old metal strands I
grew up with. There are things that you can wear at night, teeth colored
braces etc.

Note: Get it done NOW while you are young and there are other people
around you doing it. It gets more embarassing as you get older - though
the technology does seem to be getting better so it may be a wash.

I had the same problem.
Sorry, my Dentist said that the only way to make my teeth
perfect is to have braces. Luckily, my teeth have straightened on their own as time has gone by.

Yep!
I've got Invisalign & I only had 2 front teeth that were really crooked on the bottom and just one top tooth in front that was a little off.
The invisalign cost is really about the same as "regular" braces ($5,000 for invisalign-- "normal braces were quoted at 4-6,000)
my top trays are done now, after only 4 months.
i have to wear the bottom ones for about 6 more months.

i love them, i dont look like i'm 12 yrs old either (i'm 39)

It all depends how crooked the teeth are, for example if they are like this |||//||| (lol sorry can't make it clearer) then you'd have to put braces on about 4-6 of them to make tham look better as a whole but if they're crooked to the front or back you'd probly only need 2-4 of them. It all depends on their alingment. But chances are you'd need most of your teeth braced.

From my experience in having braces you would more then likely need braces even for one or two teeth to straighten and realign them alltogether. Then they would take them off and give u a retainer such as invisa line or such to keep em straight as they adjust to the braces being off. straightening is the easiest part! I had rubberbands with my braces and ugh so sore and i hated them. but after my braces came off i had retainers to keep teeth straight til they settled and didn't shift anymore which is normal when braces first come off. retainers help to "retain"(keep) the straightened shape :)

If it's not too serious, I've heard of some clear plastic retainers that you could wear for a while. They would straighten your teeth without being noticeable, but I would check with your dentist first.

It depends on the measure of the misalignment but there are a few ways to fix subtle misalignments such as wear mouth guards but for anything worse bracers are required.

Maybe, go see a orthodontist. It will depend on if the rest of your teeth have enough space for the teeth to move. You may be able to just have a retainer...
