Do something that challenges all of your faculties: intelligence, creativeness, stamina, strength, willpower and emotions.
Here are a few:
Rock climbing
Fire fighting
Acting
Taking care of abandoned animals
Visiting kids in the cancer ward
Any or all of these will reveal to you your strengths so you can feel good about yourself, and your weaknesses, so you know what to work on. Each causes you to go deep inside to overcome the obstacles involved. Each one will remind you what it means to LIVE. And add to the list, there are a lot I missed.

I have found the best way to do that is to put your self in a life changing experience that test who you are on almost every level. I found out a lot of things about my self when I went into the Marine Corps.

Try many different things. Don't just stay in your comfort zone. Ask for and really listen to other people's critical opinions of your work for what you can learn from them. Then trust your heart.
