They made me proud too often to pick one, but I think I'd have to choose when they were kind, helpful and polite to others without being asked or prompted to. Things like helping older people or sticking up for the kid everyone else was picking on. You don't see that a lot in kids, I know I didn't see much of it in other peoples kids. Also, my son came off the football field after practice everyday and hugged me, he didn't care what anyone thought, I never saw the other kids do it and the other moms were so delighted they would get a hug for themselves! I also got hugs from other kids that wouldn't hug their own parents! I loved that about him too! He's 21 and still never leaves my company without a hug, a kiss on the cheek and saying i love you.

Being a single parent, since my daughter was 4 ears old, was very tough, being friend, mother, father, older sister, etc etc, as you can imagine there were many times of arguments, when rules and regulations had to be put into order as she grew up, but I was always so proud of my daughter when after I had spent hours and hours trying to explain, the whys and wherefores about why she could not do something or go somewhere or have something that we couldn't afford, and she would end up having a tantrum or disagreement, leaving me feeling terrible because I could not supply her everything she wanted, she would go off to her room, with the problem on her mind, appear maybe 2 or 3 hours later, apologising for her manner and telling me it didnt really matter if she didnt go on school camp, or have the new skirt she had wanted. She always apologised after she had time to really think about it, and that makes me very proud.

My step daughter calling me and saying thank you for caring for and raising her and her brother even tho I didn't have to since it wasn't officially my job (their dad would pick up the kids, drop them off with me, then leave for the weekend). She told me that they always knew the rules and boundaries with me and she really appreciated that and the fact that I loved the kids like they were my own. I was sooooooooooo happy and proud at that time!
