If you want to find an ok job, best places to start will be at the airport stores, at Plaza Las Americas, and at the Condado and Old San Juan areas. That's where you will find a decent regular wage job with many benefits because that's where the most english speaking clients are. When you learn enough spanish, then apply for a federal gov't job as you will have priority by being bilingual. The hardest part of learning spanish here is that many words are spoken in english and everybody will try to talk to you in english, so there will be no much help!! My friend from the states have been living here for the last 8 years and still haven't learn spanish that much because he says that everywhere he goes and try his spanish, people would just speak english to him!!, and we live in the southwest area. Anyways, good luck and if you need any other info, email me.

If you already know Spanish then your chances are a bit higher. If you don't know Spanish, good luck getting a job because even the employees of USA companies are Puerto Rican and speak very little English. I am a recent graduate from college and live in PR, so I can tell you that if you know Spanish getting a job that pays $7.00 is fairly easy, if you want anything above that...good luck!!! The economy is PR is really low right now, and it'll just get worst because they are gonna pass a 7% tax on things (and prices in PR are generally higher than most places in the US without an additional 7%) so more people will be entering the workforce.
I suggest just moving to Miami or NY if all you want is to learn Spanish! If you had been talking about beaches, food, music or people then definitely go to PR ;-)

The job market in Puerto Rico is pretty stale, however most of the successful companies will interact with the stateside of the US. So they will communicate via phone and direct travel by plane. Being able to speak both spanish and english are very good skills and will do you very well in P.R.

If you only need to learn puertorrican Spanish, then you will be just fine. If you are already bilingual it opens the door to many opportunities. As long as you stay in the tourist area you won't have a problem finding a job. But be aware that wages are not like here in the states, they are much lower. For example if you work in a hotel as a Front Desk Agent you will get around $7/hr, in the states the same job pays around $10/hr.

Well. The odds of you finding a job are like 25 because you need a long time to learn to speak Puerto Rican Spanish. As a puerto rican I thin you will have like a 30-35% of finding a JOB.

Pretty slim. My cousin just got back and she told me finding a job is not the worst part, but keeping it is. With all the factory closings and massive lay offs the situation is going from bad to worse.
