You may have answered your question about people being touchy about religion. Scared? Maybe...because the argument may have no end specially when someone had already been judged as not following church dogmas, doctrines and Commandments. Rappers are normally rebels against the rules of life or the status quo as they look at it. So, their being Christian may have been just in them because of circumstances like being born in the Christian family. For all you know, they may even have some reservation about embracing their acquired faith.
None of us have the right to judge anyone if he is sinning. Just when it is a sin to kill innocent people or kill yourself while inflicting others. It may depend on what religious belief he is in.Sometimes you also have to look at other religions, it is not only Christians who try to enforce.

Yes, they are scared... the live in a frame of religion and everything outside that frame scares the living bejesus out of them. They cannot accept it. Anyone who doesn't believe is a threat to them in their minds. Nothing could be further from the truth, but no one will ever convince them of that.
And they sin (i.e., make bad choices like every other human) because they are people. They will ALWAYS sin, no matter how much they worship. Even if they don't actively sin, they are passing judgement on their fellow man and that's not as Jesus would do.
Religion is what is wrong with the world right now.

I think those types of Christians do that because they think they are Christians because they have grown up with the religion and they have nothing else better to believe in. As for the Rappers and such, you can ask god for forgiveness and some people take this for granite. Ex: A person kills some one then asks god for forgiveness. Therefore they are not going to hell because they recieved gods forgiveness. So "rappers" are able to talk about all this killign and smoking and still be Christians because they can still make it heaven.

Well, I've got to say I've never had anybody that doesn't even go to church try to tell me to go to their church. I don't think that anybody that doesn't go to church(and yet claims to be Christian)would be bent on conversion. And then there's those that seem to think they can commit the same sin week after week and every Sunday a priest (human) can tell them they are forgiven by God.
Not all Christians are like that.

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16. for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
A Christian is charged with a responsibility to share the Love of God so that no one should spend eternity in hell.

I know I'm scared of God -- that's why I don't worship him. Have you ever read the Old Testament? He made Moses' people wander around for forty years in the desert because they didn't want to eat matzoh bread all the time! And even back then it was only about 3months to get to Canaan from Israel! He'll smite you as soon as look at you, I am very scared of him.

Those people think they are christian when they truly aren't. No one is perfect so we all will sin regardless of religion. No one is truly perfect besides God. True believers try their hardest to follow the word of the bible. We share the gospel because we want to share the wonderful news. When people become believers we want to tell others how to get to heaven. It's our job to tell others. It's one of the things when we accept Christ. When we sin we need to repent and ask God to forgive us.. That's the difference between believers and non believers.

The idea that people go to hell after they die is a very scarry thought for some. People will worship God no matter what their situation is because they are afraid of death and what might happen after they die. Religion is soo successful because it does a great job of playing on these fears.

It is our duty as Christians to serve the Lord and let others know the true word of God. No man is perfect. We all sin, but CHristians know that our sins are forgiven.
