Where do they shoot all the movies and such?

I am going to hollywood, and is there like studios that shoot movies that you can go see and stuff like that, or is that in universal city? I have never been to hollywood before, I am very unfimilar with the city.

go to universal studios, yes, they film some of them movies there. ofcourse, the area is divided between the amusement park and real filming area, but they have intentionally, a 45 min. tram ride aroudn teh entire movie area in universal studios, showing you where they filmed popular movies, back to the future, king kong (the old one), jaws, leave it beaver, ecc. its a lot of fun and they make you go inside the studios and see everything how its all filmed, go for it!

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am recently moving. The studios are obvously the most likes spot to see shows being filmed WB or Universal (mostly a theme park though), you can get free tickets to TV shows at http://www.tvtickets.com/, or go to the Tonight show filming in Burbank.
Other then that I see them film a lot off on Sunset bl. towards West Hollywood, if not filming they always have premier parties in the evenings where you can star gaze. And of course the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood and Highland has a lot of premiers at Mann's Chinese Theatre. Just keep your eyes peeled and you're likely to see a film crew. Good Luck.

They shoot movies either on location or in a studio. Most movies don't film in front of Audiences, but there are a lot of TV shows or Talk Shows(Like the Tonight Show) that you can be in the Audience for an entire episode.
