I don't get it, when my brother gets a date, my parents lets him to stay out as long as he wants to, but when i'm TALKING ON THE PHONE to guys, my dad calls them back and threatens them. My dad said i can't date till i'm OUT of college my brother could date sicne he started high shcool (i'm a senior). Even if i'm hanging out and a guy is near me, my parents gets so mad. Why are my parents so skeptical about me goin out with a guy, but my brother can go out with a girl without a problem?

Did they immigrate from Middle East or Asia? Sounds very "old tradition" to me. If they are still living in the "old world" mentally then there isn't much you can do. Move out when you graduate from high school or let them pay for your college and then start living your own life.
You can try talking to them but if they are that stuck in the idea that they need to control their daughter's actions than I don't know if it would do any good. Just don't let them pick your husband for you.

I've had this talk with my parents and this is what they said."You don't have to worry about you son being abused by his girlfriend. So much more happens with girls like rape and abusive relationships. Yeah, it happens to guys too, but more then 50% of the time it's girls. Parents are scared so they act in ways they think is protecting." No, it's not fair for girls. That I somewhat agree with. But if you talk to your parents and give them reasons to trust you and those you talk to, they may lighten up. KEYWORD: "MAY"

This isn't normal if you have'nt done anthing to make them mistrust you. My 1st wife was mistrusted by her parents , so we ran off and got married way too young. They might need to let up some , and beleve that they taught you rigtht from wrong.
