All different women experience different levels of pain during childbirth. The difference between childbirth pain and other pain from injury is that labor comes in waves. There's a contraction for several seconds, followed by a break for several more seconds. It's not a continuous. For some women, the pain is bearable enough and knowing that there will soon be an end is enough for them to continue without pain medications. For others, the pain is too much to handle and they need relief from an epidural or other drugs to get through to the end. In the case of a c-section, there's no pain during the actual birth, but there is a lot of pain afterward due to the mother's body being cut and stitched back together.

Yes, but there are numerous ways of managing the pain. I had 2 babies without any pain medication; I took classes to learn focused relaxation. When your body is tense, it makes pain worse. When you learn to breathe properly, and when your partner is attuned to you and ready to help, it makes it all tolerable. The big deal is that you get a baby at the end of it! That's worth some difficult hours. You can also have pain medication to make it more comfortable. Giving birth was the best experience of my life -it's amazing to have a brand new person be born from your body. But wait 10 years or so before you try it. Try to have a man who will be there for you and your baby, at the birth and forever after....

At your age it will be very painful,if I try stretching your fingers or try stuffing your mouth with something bigger then your mouth it will hurt.Likewise when your vagina is stretched to make an opening big enough for a baby to come out it is going to hurt and be painful. But after you get married,I mean when you are 24/25 years your body will be in a position to bear a lot as child bearing pain is, bliss, its happiness for you and your husband,Its a great feeling to have your child whom you have carried around for 9 months. Its good to have a sound knowledge of everything little one, but at present you should be concentrating on your studies.

Childbirth is different for every woman... some women I have heard don't feel a thing... me on the other hand felt EVERYTHING! It hurt so bad I couldn't breath... and what is lamaze?? breathing techniques so you can get yourself through a contraction... I ended up getting an epidural (which I didn't want) but am so happy I did... so I can say half my labor hurt and the other half didn't lol!!

I have never actually gave birth, I had a c-section, but I did experience labor and it hurt. I didn't take any drugs but I don't think I could have gone through the whole actual birth without some. And even though it hurts as soon as you see your little baby for the first time you can't even remember what the pain felt like.

Yes, I had went into labor naturally with one and labor wasn't so bad I went through the whole thing and got a little bit of pain meds when I started pushing. The second one I was induced with pitocin (sp?), the starting contractions were worse than any of the contractions that I had with my first one! I got an epidural because it was so painful.. I would do it over and over, I love my children with every ounce of my heart, they are my JOY! The pain of labor and delivery is worth EVERY min!!!!

I remember being your age and being scared, and saying I would never have kids because of the pain. Here I am at 41, and I have four kids. You forget the pain. My insurance would not pay for the spinal block (epidural) that blocks pain, so it was VERY painful... but beautiful babies are worth it....I hope you don't find out for a long time, though.

if you want to know if it hurts just go to a labor and delivery ward of the hospital and listen to the screams. I have had 2 and hell yes it hurts and hope to god you dont have a child coming whats called sunny side up (face up instead of down) then the pain is like doubled or even tripled. It is not fun.

I have never had a kid but my best friend just gave birth a few months ago (we're both 24) and she is the giddiest person in the world so I expected her to say 'no, not really. it hurt just a little bit but it was no biggie'.
Well, let's just say she didn't say that or say it in a giddy tone. She looked at me in all seriousness and said F---- YEAH!!!! IT HURT LIKE HELL!!! I WANTED TO KILL THE DOCTOR!!!!
So that should answer that question.
