I JUST WANT TO KNOW AS AND BEING A WOMAN MY QUESTION GOES OUT TO WOMEN. WOULD A WOMAN SOLDIER EVER SHOOT A CHILD OR DOES HER MATERNAL INSTINCT TELL NOT TO!

Overkill, sheesh.
Anyhow: the harsh reality is, in countries in the Middle East, they often use children as human shields, or hand them guns and tell them to shoot the Americans. As awful as it is, it's kill or be killed.

I would think it would depend on the situation. Is that child holding an AK47 and pointing it right at the female soldier? This would be the same as asking if a female police officer would ever shoot a child? Here again is that child pointing a 9mm gun straight at the officer and pulling the trigger? What about the stories of children being used as suicide bombs by the religious fanatics? I am not sure it has anything to do with maternal instincts, it might turn more to self-preservation. If either the soldier or the officer thought they were going to be to be shot I think they would shoot or I would hope they would.

this question is such an loaded question (so to speak)... Soldiers that go "over there' are trained to kill and shoot on command.. Ofcourse I would not want to see any child shot nor would I want to see a person shot.and killed. It's such a shame It's really a heartache!! But if you are talking about going into the United States Military...well unfortunately that may very well happen. Like I said Unfortunately.
I do However believe and very strongly that if this was the question in the United States... I do not think that this would happen here in the states. Althout we say we want to look and help others in the foreign countries I know that we are helping our own here and sadly forgetting the americans' we sent over to figth for our freedom.
With your question although it is a very good question it's questionable as to 'if a woman is in the White House ...what would she do? up until the earlier years people (or men) joke around or not about if a woman had to push the button ...they would the general men consensus says cause i guess they havne't given bitth.

Eitherway...I am Against War But I do want to live in a safer and more loving happier community.. NOt sure this is longer a belief and a life that I am currently living with my husband and my son.

I just think that if it has to happen for Whatever the reason or orders given then that this unfortunate even is going to have to happen. This the the way to United Staes works under Attack!!

And NO, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.... No Child Should Ever be hurt, scared or god Forbid Killed!! Noo Child should have this done upon them...Regardless if it is from a Man or
Woman. People killing children I am quite sure have a lifetime of Mental problems and I am also sure they never wanted it that way...the killers of the kids that is!!!

I am not a woman.. but I am a former Marine.. and I believe that any member of the military that is properly trained would do their duty.. As for would a woman shoot a child..

I think a woman soldier/Marine would hesitate, on average, as often as a male would hesitate.. I think it's human nature to react differently to a threat from a child than from an adult, not an exclusive trait to women..

A female soldier is trained to do the same as a male soldier, if trained in combat she will react the same as a man. Would a male soldier shoot a child?

It depends on the person, gender really has nothing to do with anything. I mean, anyone can be a jerk and go off doing things like shooting kids. And I don't believe there is any deep-seeded instinct in women that denies them the ability to shoot children.

I guess a woman would.... Most soldiers don't kill kids there are a few nuts in this world but for the most part soldiers don't kill kids it's just it happens sometimes. Like a bomb hit and blows up a school or something.

If anybody male or female ever raised a gun to a child then the holder of the gun should just keep on lifting the gun to their own head, because that is just sick to think to kill an innocent child. If you can't deal with a child give them a better home. Find them another family that will love them for being themselves.

Depends on her training and if the child posses a threat or not. If the child does then for the sake of her life(if she wants to go home and see her kids) and the sake of her crew she better.

all people in the military are trained the same. you are basically asking would a woman hesitate in general. i would hope that all people would. when it comes down to it though, you have to consider the situation they are being put in. the only reason they would even have to consider it is if that child is holding a weapon as well. if it came down to it would you kill someone that was about to kill you?
