No, I'd prefer a diverse culture, one that more accurately reflects our country in general. That way, they can learn right from the start to get along with a variety of people and cultures.

I would like my children to be exposed to a variety of cultures through school. I live in a small town that is predominantly white, and am concerned about the lack of exposure my sons may have to people of different cultures. We moved here from a larger city due to my husband's job, and while we love the sense of community, the lack of diversity is a concern.
So I guess that while I want their school to have the same basic principles as me, I also want them to be exposed to other cultures.

Schools should ideally be diverse. I want my kids to always be in schools that are economically, socially, politically, and culturally diverse so that they grow up with a broader perspective on life. I am a teacher, and I work at a wealthy religious school, and I find it a bit stultifying. The kids there tend to look down on people who have less money and who are of a different religion than they are, despite my very best efforts to teach them otherwise.

I have to agree with the others, how can you expect children to learn tolerance. Sure I would expect that the school have the same ideals i.e. protect the children from predators and bullies, education, arts, and nutrition. We recently ad an episode when a student was taken out of school by his parents because they do not celebrate a holiday, and I had to explain to my son why. But he was still hear broken.

No i think variety is best they learn more from cultures in stead of one culture is like being in a bubble enviorment. They are more apt to have more respect for other cultures if they are exposed to them.
