Our daughter turns five soon, and we're having an outdoor party with six or seven of her friends. Any suggestions on games or activities that might go over well (or a book with games and activities)?

We'll be in a covered pavilion in a local park with some picnic tables. The park itself has a carousel and a large play area, but we'd like to keep the kids together for the most part.

Thanks.

get a pinata... which is easy, you can buy them anywhere.... have a theme such as princesses or whatever she really likes.... play tag, pin the tail on the donkey, etc...

Well what kind of things is she into? You can think of awesome ways to get the party any five-year-old can ever have. My Aunt Linda did stuff like that when she couldn't think of ways to get a birthday party more fun. Good luck

Different types of relays. One of my favorites is to get two sets of large clothes...make the outfits mismatched with hats, scarves, gloves, socks, etc....divide the girls into two teams....then one from each team has to put all the clothes on, run to point and back, take the clothes off, while the next person in line starts to get dressed...take pictures..it's a hoot :-) Little girls love to create...painting, beads, etc. Enjoy :-)

you should have a Hawaiian theme, with grass skirts and flowered necklaces, maybe even a hula dancing contest... and limbo? perhaps you could even move a small grill beside the pavilion to make hot dogs for the kids?

NOT A CLOWN NO WAY MOST FIVE-YR-OLDS HATE THEM. sry. try one of those jumphouses and be sure you have a cake. have active games that'll make them all excited. and yes, get a pinata. why dont you ask your wife (wait, you're a guy, right)?

pin the tail on the donkey always is fun and also if it is still summer and hot outside do like a water play party of something with sprinklers... or water balloons or something like that....
