What makes you think (in a way) the earth is not flat?

No. I am not. I don't mix science and Christianity together. I know by our science class when I was in school the world was round.l know by the bible that God created earth and rested on the sabbath/seventh day. There are many groups out there that are trying to rewrite science and leaving God totally out with His creation. See I was not created from a monkey or a fish. I am created in God's image. This nonsence of theological nonsense is going to fall flat in some peoples faces. Just like back in 1974 or 1975 when I was in high school it was predicted that California was going to fall off in the ocean by the end of the 1900s because of theory. Well California is still attached and no major earthquake has split the United States in half. Now I am not saying that it is not possible but until God allows it the world will always stay round, and the United States will stay together just like California. Have you also heard the theory that Alaska is going to be where California is now. and California won't exist. Not because of theory if this were to happen it is going to be all because God allows it to happen and that is the only way. I hope I
didn't miss what you were trying to ask here. I tried to do some research first but there were no answers that I felt compfortable with. If this is not what you needed to know please feel free to ask this question again in a different way and I will answer this again with pleasure.

clearly, revelation 7:1 and revelation 20:8 all talk about the four corners of the earth, and they all say oh no the earth is round but a round earth would have no corners

same with genesis

genesis 1:26-27 and genesis 2:7 say god made human out of the dust of the ground,
eventually in our lifetime the overwhelming majority of christianity is going to say, yes these are figurative and just like the four corners was representative so is with the genesis account for science teaches evolution

Food for thought,

here are a couple of references that the earth is circular, and that it is suspended in space (not on the back of a turtle! LOL).

Isaiah 40:22 (KJV) It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Job 26:7 (KJV)
7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Oh yeah, and the bottomless pit concept can only come from the center of the earth where every direction is up. So one could deduce from the scriptures the world is round.

Oh well! Good luck in your plight for truth!

I'm agnostic, so call me neutral.

It'd be perfectly fair if you couldhome definitively and completely prove that Creationism was wrong at some future point that the creationists of this day and age are like those that challanged the spherenessness of the earth. But Creationism is more of an assessment of how things were, rather than one of how things are. It's simple to show that things are something different than one someone says they are, but saying how things were is a lot more difficult.

"Christian writers questioned or even opposed the sphericity of the Earth" Not true. The catholic leaders persecuted those who made the claim that the world was round because it threatened their power. It is one more evidence that system is based on power.

Scientists are the ones who determined that anything with a calculable and repetitious motion has to have a prime mover. Scientists only take samples for their work from orderly and intelligent sites on earth. Since the earth is part of the intelligent and calculable universe and since all of science's research is taken from either intelligent samples on earth or data from the intelligent universe it is either that all samples retrieved are disorderly and unintelligent or they are really intelligent, orderly and the prime mover or creator of this giant clock is ultra orderly and intelligent.
By the way, we cannot see the wind, heat, or propulsion. Witnesses testify to their existence. The teachers and the witnesses use a maximum of 10% of their wisdom-potential. One of our witnesses--King Solomon had at least twice the wisdom-potential of our modern teachers. Since most forces are invisible to the naked eye and since my God is more powerful than all the other forces combined, unlike the wind, He speaks and allows miraculous events to happen, which I have witnessed. I will never select the philosophy of fickle and finite men over my infinite unlimited power CREATOR.

Life is being created in every moment. The cells of your body are constantly dying and re-growing. Nothing is static. Even the chair you are sitting on is made of a bunch of molecules which are bouncing off each other so fast that it appears solid. It's just that our eyes arent good enough to see them. If life did not constantly change and re-create itself, then time would not exist. And without time, space and matter cannot exist.

I am a Christian and I do not believe that the story of creation is a scientific account of how the earth was created.

I do not believe "Creationism" should be taught in school.

The story of creation is an allegory. Anyone who thinks it should be taught as scientific fact knows precious little about science!!

Very cute.

How long will it be before people realise that people in groups aren't all the same?

Do you know the percentage of Creationists that believed that?
