First of all, Salman Rushdie's work was like the Da Vinci COde I think. I have read neither. Just seen comments and documentaries on television'
What Salman Rushdie did was to fictionalise some parts of the islamic faith and bring some kind of knowledge to teh world.
As I have not read his book, The satanic verses, I cannot give examples.
But why such outrageous reactions to a work of fiction?
If you say something wrong about islam, they will kill you? What kind of outrageous reaction is that?
One of the answerer says that Islam does not allow to say bad things about others gods. But that is untrue.
Islam says you must believe in Allah only and the prophet is mohammad and if you do not believe in Allah and his prophet then you are a kaffir. This is blasphemy because you are telling me, a non believer of Allah and Mohammad, that I do not have the right to believe in my GOD.
In comment to the same answerer, it does not matter what we think about you making fun of us and our religion in your koran, the fact is that you are doing it and then telling those who make fun of your religion that they will be killed.
This is hypocricy.
Muslims have this notion that they can do anything in the world and hurt anyone they want because they are right and everyone else wrong.
Is that not blasphemy? Muslims are cruel people. All of them. Because they threaten everyone else with death.
I dont understand the world now. These muslims have been killing people for so long and no one raises a voice except now some kind of fighting is going on.
It is cruel. It is unfair and inhuman that this lot of people who call themselves muslims and devoted to allah are killing so many people and then going around the world lying to everyone that they are peace loving people.
We are stupid that we allow them into our homes and belive their drama of being innocent and peace loving.

he continues to be alive. I dont want to kill him and that i dont want to verify his face the two, you may shop him and you will love him, i'm no longer bothered. His better halves too divorced him. Are you nonetheless listening to Beatles songs and ingesting stale bread and analyzing previous information? I truly have some previous clothing, you have got them too, in case you're element of the oldies. EDIT Khomeini or Iran or Shiites dont represent mainstream Muslims who're Sunni Muslims.

Apparently in Muslim law, denouncing Islam in any way is an atrocity punishable by death. So, therefore, writing about the evils of Islam would make some Muslims want to kill you.

People who call for the death of someone who has done nothing but exercise free speech are just plain idiots. Why should we collectively protect their rights?

No because he committed blasphemy which must be rewarded with killing. No one is allowed to do that.
When islam does not allow muslims to say anything wrong to the Gods of others then how can it bear something wrong to the real creator who is Allah the Almighty.
I don't know if christian can afford to listen something bad to Jesus (peace be upon him) or Jews can afford to listen something bad to Mosus (peace be upon him).
If you say something wrong to Hindu's Gods, they will kill you.
