So I have a 2 yr old Samsung TV and a HD set top box. For almost a year, no problems. Lately the picture has been coming and going, the colors fading in and out, and my TV has been giving me messages such as "no signal" or "searching for signal".

I contacted my cable company (Time Warner) and their solution did not work. I'm probably going to get a replacement box from them, unless anyone has any other ideas? All the wires/cable appear to be tight from what I could see.

It sure sounds like the set-top box is defective, or there is a problem getting the cable signal into the house. There may be a break in the cable, or a bad connector. The cable company cannot diagnose this over the phone--someone has to come out and make signal checks. I doubt very much that the TV is at fault.

Check the cable hook-up on your home or apt.
A connection could be loose at the cable input or
at the cable out-put.
