There are so many reports about Hezbollah lauching missles in high numbers but very few reports about damage at the other end. Are these "Water Balloon" missles or are the reports about so many missles being launched exaggerated?

Something seems funny here. If Hezbollah is really sending that many missles and causing next to no damage how much of a threat can they really be to Israel? Sounds like you'd have to be hit in the head with those missles to get hurt.

Am I the only one scratching my head about this?

These missiles are from the 50's, fired from multiple tubes on a launcher. Supplied by Iran and through Syria. They have and do destroy buildings and have killed Israelis even though they are not very accurate but can be aimed at cities. Most Israeli's within range stay in bomb shelters.
You can stop scratching your head. And they do hide behind the close togeather buildings to fire them using the people around for protection, plus they can act fast to point out any damage such as the last attack on them when they were firing from behind the building all the children and civilians were in.

The missiles that the news reports are talking about is the "Katyusha". Thats Russian for Katherine, the knickname the russian soldiers named this type of missile back in WWII. Yeah, the design is that old. They come in a bunch of different sizes like the BM-13=132mm, BM-8=82mm, and the BM-31=300mm. The size generally determines the flight distance. The vehicle that fires it (thus the BM which stands for Boyevaya Meshina, or Combat Vehicle). Hezbollah tends to favor the smaller man portable ones with a limited effective range. Yet they can be pulled out of the closet and fired rather quickly. Most are headed with a high explosive warhead munition fully encased in steel ball bearings to create a dual purpose weapon of HE and antipersonnel. They are not too accurate those the vehicle that fired them has multiple launch tubes and they are used to carpet bomb an area. The germans in WWII called them Stalin's Organ. Imagine a large bottle rocket that goes boom when it hits something. That also about the effective targeting accuracy of them. Hope this helps.

I saw what one of their missiles did to a building where eight people were killed by a rocket with metal bearings that is only made by Syria. It is a most deadly weapon. Also I have seen the damage to towns by Hezbollah's missiles. Israel is more prepared to go to bomb shelters when warned. However the terrorists hide behind civilians in hopes that they will be killed or severely hurt so that Israel would be seen as the more evil of the two in the Arab world. The ignorance of those who support these cowardly terrorists is so clear. They are so blinded by hate that they refuse to see the real reason for the death and destruction in both of these countries in the region..

Well heres a better question... they seem to have an infinite amount of these missiles dont they? well hmmm... where are they getting the explosives from to make them??? Surely A country who does not have any supportive economy has to come up with a lot of scratch to get the ingredients for these missiles so the real question is whos funding this? well guess what? its not hezbollah thats for sure.. but if you look into the history of Shin-bet you'll find out all you need to know about this never-run-out stockpile of missiles...and whos giving it to them..

The are launching unguided rockets. The Israelis are playing it smart and keeping the civilians in shelters.

And the reason you are not hearing about this is because nobody cares about what happens to Israeli civilians.

For example - are you aware that an Israeli hospital was hit by a Hezbollah rocket?

The Israelis are more prepared and ready for these kinds of terrorist attacks and they are not called missiles, they're rockets.
inaccurate rockets with no guides systems. If they did then they will be called missiles. See you've learned something new. You want a cookie? How about some candy?

some magazine (Newsweek, time or something like that) ran an article about them. They are actually small short range missiles. a bit bigger then a over the shoulder missile launcher. they can destroy building and such. so not water balloons but not huge missiles either.

Hope this helps

They are like long skinny tubes with fins that blow up anything or any body they hit...........................
Not the cartoon kind that Wile E. Coyote rides on. Lets lob a few into your neighborhood and see if you are so non-chalant about their accuracy and destructive force.

If they had better they would use better. If they had more , they would use more. If they could get them to target schools, hospitals and synagouges, they would.
If they could fire them at your home town in the US, they would too, (however unlikely). Listen to them on TV, they will tell you nearly directly.
