Recovering Christian?
Are you serious?
That's alright.
But heed this:
when you die in that tragic car accident tomorrow or you get sucked into a huge drain pipe at the bottom of the local waterslide park 2 years from now, don't expect a blessed death.
The Lord will say;
"Depart from me, I never knew you."

Personally, I never met an aetheist that just wasn't pissed at God for an unanswered prayer.
Isn't that lunacy as well.
When you consider that Quantum physics is discussing the possibilities of 11 or more dimensions - isn't it a bit narrow in your thinking to assuming nothing inhabits those dimensions? Perhaps a high being?
When you consider we only see a very small band in the light spectrum - isn't it possible there is more to see?

I don't know what may have happened to you in your life to make you so bitter against Christianity, but I am very sorry for whatever it was, and I apologize to you in the stead of whoever caused it.
I do, however, know Someone Who does know all about it, and Who can help you to truly "heal the wounds of lunacy".
God bless, and much love to you......

This is so very sad. I could not go through this life without the hope of something more.
"Christians" in a lot of ways are causing ones such as yourself to not want anything to do with God, due to judgemental ways.
If you want to KNOW there is a God, ask Him, not people. Just be open to the answers you may get.

I sympathize with you.
  "Oh, you poor thing."
"Oh, it must be so horrible, not to believe."
"If you're an atheist, you never were a Christian."
I never know whether to laugh manically, or puke, when I hear crap like that.
Listen up, morons... the thing that changes Christians into agnostics/atheists (RATIONAL people) is that they learn how to THINK properly... something which is an alien concept to you, I'm sure. Faith and belief don't cut it. Faith is a substitute for evidence. Belief is a substitute for knowledge. Neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance and delusion.

Brought up a Christian - church schools, sunday school, church choir, the whole shooting match. Started to recover in my 20s, and now in my 50s fully recovered. Not afraid of death; not worried about supernatural beings and their views about me; able to think for myself, and follow logical reason and deduction to its conclusion without having to worry I'm offending some 'higher power'.
I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life, because I'll be a long time dead!

If you are an atheist you never were a Christian. Christians believe that Jesus is God. And atheists don't believe in God. Christians have accepted that Jesus died on the cross for their sins. Atheists don't believe this.

Nor the wounds of hatred. I'm not atheist, but I can relate to the feeling.
