You have to make an effort to know what the present world and world hereafter are?Even in day today life ,we try to know about everything before whether that is good for us or not.If one needs medicine ,he would like to ensure that the medicine he is taking is meant for his ailment.Like for salvation in life hereafter ,one needs to know and firmly believe in the medicine. As for as belief is concerned, one needs to be logical. One may not believe in the present world but he is living in it.So he cannot completely dispel this feeling of existence.Same is regarding your feelings about hereafter, you may not believe in it yet I think it is better to make preparation for it.If it is not there ,then it is fine but if it is there then what would happen? You would be caught unaware and without any preparations.Almighty God may help you?

According to the biblical view of creation (Genesis), all that exists is the earth and heaven. They are separated by a physical barrier called the 'firmament' (the sky), which god created on the first day of creation, to 'divide the waters' between heaven and earth. Then he hung the sun (big light), the moon (medium light), and a few thousand stars (little lights) on the firmament. Essentially, this describes a 'terrarium'... the earth in a jar, with heaven occupying the outside, on top of the jar; i.e., on the other side of the sky.

So, that's where you're talking about going, huh? The other side of the sky?

Good luck with that.

I think the potential for everyone to be wrong is quite real... so an athiest who is wrong might actually end up going somewhere even if they dont believe in it... and a christian might believe they are going to heaven, only to not have there be a heaven - and not go anywhere...

Thats were the "hope" comes from... you can have faith that you are good at math, and you can also "hope" that you pass a test.... they are not mutually exclusive

Other religions believe in a place same as heaven, but may not call it that. Does that mean heaven is on earth, since God is everywhere? Maybe we just have to find it. I think atheists believe in God, but they call themselves atheists because they dont want to follow all the contradictory stuff in the Bible.

I think you are attempting to say that atheists claim not to believe in god but when someone posts a question about if you think you are going to heaven, then the atheists say "I hope so." If that is indeed what you are trying to say then you are wrong. No atheist is going to say he hopes he goes to heaven.

And by the way, I sure wouldn't want to be a christian and at the end of my life discover that I'd been wrong.

Those people that said that obviously were not an athiest then were they!

An athiest doesnt believe in god and would NEVER turn to this so called thing even in the worst of times.. I know there is no god so why would I waste my time praying?
Any christian that says they use to be an athiest is lying, they obviously were not an athiest to begin with.
The people you are talking about obviously were not athiest, if they said they were, again, obviously and common sense says they are not!

No.....

the Bible says "people perish for lack of knowledge". Just because you may not believe in heaven, or hell, doesn't mean you wont' go there.
The way to heaven is accepting Christ as Lord, confessing your sins, and believe in your heart.

The way to hell is to deny Christ. There is no in between so you either choose to live for Him or against Him, and whatever choice you make - is where you will spend eternity.

I believe that Jesus Christ is God and my savior. I hope you do too. There is a heaven just as there is an earth. If you believe in Him too I may see you on earth but I will for sure see you in heaven.

I didn't answer that question, I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, so I will just be fertilizing the earth.
