No matter what...your food stamps should only be used for food, not alcohol, gas, or cigarettes! It's annoying how some people on welfare abuse this. It's our money, we the hard working people, that gets taxed for other people to use! Some do deserve welfare, but a lot that are able to work and so on, do not deserve it. I've seen those that own SUV's and pay at the cashier for junk food and such with that EBTcard. Some like to use their welfare money on name-brand clothes too! You just look at them and laugh to yourself how some can be sooo pathetic! The welfare system needs a lot of cleaning done to it, so that the real old, disabled, and/or deserving people get what's due to them...NOT to the ones who think the government owes them coz they want to be baby making machines AND they're too lazy to work like the rest of us!

You can't buy alcohol or cigarettes on food stamps would be nice for some people. The purpose of having food stamps is to buy food you can't buy toilet paper either which I think if anything they should let you get that.

No definatley not, you can lose your food stamp benefits permanetly if you even try.

They should have given you a list of things that you cannot buy with food stamp benefits, when you got your card.

Alcohol and tobacco are the biggest ones on that list.

No. You cannot buy alcohol or cigarettes or non-food items on an EBT card in any state.

with your food stamp benefits, you buy your staple foods. alcohol may be a 'staple' for you, but it sure doesn't categorize as any food from the 4 food groups i know.

I hope it is. If you are so poor that you can't afford food without assistance then you shouldn't be wasting your money on alcohol.
