Should you Tell?

should you tell your parents if your dateing a guy or should you just keep it a secret for a really long time? i dont know what to do i think that my parents would find out and then i would have to stop dateing him or someing. i just dont know?

Tell them, don't keep secrets then they'll really be suspicious about him and think he's a loser.

I think you are young just because you are asking...to say things simple..you dint wanna your parents to know everyone you date! that´s a fact cause you don't know if that relationship is going to be formal but if you are very young you need to have someone to advice you about having sex and other kind of problems ...so I'm sure maybe you have a great aunt or an older friend ...try to be honest with that person before and pay attention to her advices cause always an older person knows better about teenage problems and how to deal with those issues without being a parent trying to protect their daughter from the outside world.
Parents are crazy when you are young cause they feel you need protection all the time and maybe if you tell them soon and your boyfriend is not OK for your family you are going to have a lot of problems to meet him ...

Go ahead and tell if you're over 14yrs old You'' ll be surprised at their reaction its better than hiding it and since you have thought about telling them you and your parents must have a good understanding so keep that bond !!

well it depends. how old are you, and how old is the guy? i wasnt aloud to start dating until i was 16, but i started at 14 and keep 2 or 3 of the bf's a secret, but after awhile it gets tireing. so i would tell your parents. they might get mad, but its part of life.

You don't wanna start off by telling them you're already dating. Just tell them that you're interested in guys & wanted to come to them responsibly & find out their opinion on dating. If they are squemish try to compromise with them & maybe set some guidelines with them that everyone can agree upon which may put them more at ease. Good Luck & don't screw up!

i just started dating this guy a week ago. i've mentioned it to my mother because i don't want her to hear it from someone who lives close by. i told her that i like him and she asked questions about him. just let them know so they are not in the dark. you don't have to talk about it too much. just tell at least one of your parents and he/she will tell the other.

You don't have to worry about telling them because they will find out in time. But sneaking around could ruin it for you they may never trust you again.
